Elite Veteran Posts: 1102 Location: Hayward, Calif | Hey Guys, Got er done! I put a rear axel, drum to drum from a 68 Ply Fury in a 59 Dodge. I had my Fab guy move the spring mounts over 5/16" toward the inside. The guy did a nice job and kept a 4 degree pinion angle. I got it mounted and all put back together. I took the pics from the rear as I had more room. The 1st 3 pics are with a 215/75R15 tire with a 3 3/8 backspace wheel. Next 4 pics are dr side with a 225/75R15 with a 3 3/4 backspace wheel. As you can see there is plenty of room once the full weight of the car sets down on that axel. Not much weight on it now. Elite Veteran Posts: 1102 Location: Hayward, Calif | I had to move the spring mounts because they would not set on the center bolts without forcing it. Therefore putting the springs in a bit of a twist and putting an adverse effect on the shackle bushings. Also the U bolts wouldn't line up straight. I felt it was $60 well spent. When I got it back, it set right down on the center bolts and everything lined up. From that point on it was just a matter of reassembly. Jerry

Elite Veteran Posts: 1102 Location: Hayward, Calif | Just on the off chance I might have overlooked something, I took some measurements. At the spring front bushing the spring measures 4' exactly, across the top of the springs from side to side OD. The distance from side to side at the shackles was also 4'. Both shackles angle down and forward at 4 degrees. This angle will change once the full weight sets on that axel. It is what it is ! I posted this info so others might see what I did and how I went about it. I came across this axel about 4 yrs ago and preliminary measurements looked pretty close, so I bought it while it was still available. Happy Motoring, everyone. Jerry
