Another internet friend of mine is asking me to help sell his car. This car is in Virginia. It has around 88K miles on it and has had 3 owners. It was repainted in 1991, has no dents or rust (according to seller), and has always been garaged. It comes with a lot of extra parts. There are a few non-original items, like the air cleaner and alternator, but most of all, the seats have been changed. The incorrect wheels are on the car, but the original wheels and covers come with it. Seller is asking $30,000. Email me for contact information, please. desoto@pathway.net

Nice car. Would be fun to be cruising in that one. I thought Firedome's had the tall back window also, or was it just Fireflite's and Adventurer's. DeSoto lives !!!

I thought it was optional to have a tall back window? Nice car, not exactly a deal by any means....but...still nice to see a lesser Firedome

During "the years that matter" ( ), the Adventurer is a HP "thoroughbred" car built
off a Fireflite "base". Firedome was a purposely built "down-market" model, with cheaper
interior, trim, and the lack of nifty new styling details like the high back glass. Firesweep
was an even cheaper trimmed version of the down-market Firedome with the Dodge frame,
chassis, drivetrain, and the obvious nose.

It wasn't until the 1959 models that the high back glass was offered as an option on the
lower models.

Why does the header say this car is a Fireflite ?

Looks almost orange....looks odd with such a soft beige color....a burgundy color would have suited that beige better

This confusion comes because you've written the wrong headline.
First I also thought, why ....... and finally I've seen, that this car is a Dome.

BTW, what a nice color combo

UGH! I HATE when that happens. I started typing and my fingers failed me. The car IS a FireDOME, obviously. Not trying to be evasive, as I know the difference between the models. I simply mis-spoke, and hopefully corrected it now, which may cause even MORE confusion!

Ed, you are allowed to err.    That's ONE for '15.    Hang in there now for the rest of the years and we'll hold court to see if you are allowed another next year.   Maybe, maybe not.

LOL

Mike, Curious what you find to be odd about the door jamb.   Explain please.    I had a car in this color combination numerous years ago.   Jambs looked like this one.

Think Mike is referring to the first photo.

To me it just looks like where someone has peeled off the old Service Stickers

In the 5th picture looks like primer spots or some greyish color spots in the door jamb. Just seemed odd.

Hmm,, See what you mean Mike,,

Maybe they the remains of the back of service stickers, But can also see where the paint appears all chipped as well, Just as though they used a scraper to remove the stickers..
