Though designed by the Forward Look team, it doesn't make the cut according to this site.

The 62 Dart was a spectacularly bizarre car. The interiors were a little "cheap" looking,
but I would happily own one. It is the only Mopar made between 62 and 65 I can say
that about. I'd love to have a Polara ragtop !!!

Cool '55s, love them all! and the gas station too!

One of the first old cars I had late '70s was a '62 Polara 500 drop-top with 361. Loved it, but it was a real rust bucket so it passed on eventually. Light, powerful , great handling car. But the dash, while cool looking, was really cheap and plastic-y. The "chrome" tuned yellow and dull and looked really crappy when it got old.

500 hp all wheel drive, all wheel steering, twin turbo...

I did change the spoiler out back to the active one... I just sold my Dodge Stealth Twin Turbo... It was kind of "mopar". I won best of show at mopar one year, they kicked my out the next saying "hey that's not a mopar!"

Cars we currently own, or cars that we have owned? I WAS in the "car of the month" club a few years back. As soon as I bougth a car, I was looking for my next but now I own the Suburban and a 1967 GTO[stored]. I recently sold my 1970 Monte Carlo SS 454. Probably one of the rarest cars that I've owned.

While I no longer have a Forward Look (sold both my 57 Saratoga 2 dr ht and 56 Coronet Lancer 4 dr ht) my new car is pretty close to one- 1957 Lincoln Premiere.

You know you're bringing me to tears, don't you?

I had an identical all-white 1957 Lincoln Premiere 2 door hardtop - bought it from the original owner in October, 1990 with 61,719 original miles. It was stolen on Sunday, February 2, 1992, with just over 68,000 original miles on the clock - was the only car I ever cried over.

300 hp and 425 lbs/ft torque hooked up to a 3.07 rear end - if you didn't have to mind the speed limit, that baby would cruise at 100 mph all day.

Wow, that's sad 1955Coronado, sorry about your loss what a bummer! My car originally had a red roof with white body and red/white leather interior. It was originally from Arizona and brought to Ohio in the 70s-80s. At one time the interior was changed to all black/white and coral exterior before all white. I didn't get it until late summer, and was getting some brake/tranny work. I can't wait for this summer, though!

Whoa - talk about freaky. My '57 had a black & white leather interior, but mine was originally from Ohio and brought here to Arizona when the original owner moved here in the early 1960's (even found a service station receipt from 1960 under the back seat during my first cleanout - the mileage accumilated over 3 years at that point was just over 4,000 miles!).

I spent over 2 weeks talking the original owner, who was 82 years old and hadn't been able to pass the eye test for the DMV for several years, into selling it to me - just some 19 year old kid who had a severe case of 'love at first sight' over that car. Every single penny of my last 3 weekly paychecks went into buying that '57, with the remainder paid off over the next month (just after Thanksgiving, apropos enough).

Mine initially needed brake and transmission work as well, as the original owner did nothing to it but start it up every few weeks and run it 50 feet back & forth in the driveway for the previous few years (again, because he couldn't pass the DMV eye exam) - and, as a result of letting the transmission run dry of fluid for an extended period of time, it'd slip if you put your foot in it in the slightest and the master cylinder & brake drum adjustments were shot. After getting the brakes themselves fixed, I found out the hard way about the brake drums - all that were available at the time were used drums that could be turned, at $95 A PIECE!.

It seemed to run smooth enough, but it smoked a bit going down the freeway, so I began to look for another engine & transmission - a little over a month into the search, the poor, un-exercised 368 threw 2 rods and was down for 4 months. Until mid-May, 1991, when I found an Auto Trader ad displaying a totaled '57 Lincoln Premiere Landau 4 door hardtop, presumably with around 52,000 original miles - posted by Bo Malefors. Went to see it after Bo agreed to yank the 368 V-8 & 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic (? - I think it was called that. Was an identical 3-speed auto tranny) tranny out of the totaled '57 Premiere, paid $700 COB (Cash On the Barrelhead ) on the spot for both and gave Bo an extra $20 to have them delivered to a buddy's house to install ourselves. 3 days, a few arm scrapes and a slightly bent grille later, a strong, stock, non-smoking engine and solid tranny was once again powering my baby. Along with a fresh radiator, it ran daily without one single problem - right up to the day it was stolen with a full tank of gas and a fresh tune-up.

If yours is all stock, trust me - you're gonna fall in love with your '57, body and soul. Mine had full power (including radio antenna), Town & Country signal seeking radio and front & rear heat - how's yours fixed for options/goodies?

I was kinda looking forward this thread. I am absolutely a FL-Mopar guy but there is one non fl-mopar in my barns that i will never sell I quess.
Its my 58 Chevy Delivery wagon. I bought when I was 19 just relised from the army and got a job.
It was very very rusty and repaired with odd manners, pop-rivets, glasswiper and painted with brush and roll. It was a "raggari-auto" even previous owner was about 90 years old.
Drove it as it was for about a year till it does´nt pass inspections.
It was restored (with many compromizes) and registered again in 1986.
In 1988 I became a Mopar guy Bought 1959 Dodge Coronet coupe, You understand why I left this car in barn.
1990 Bought a 1960 Desoto Adventurer wich I owned over 23 years... In same time I had all kind of cars, buicks, chevies, mustang... but 58 Delivery stayed, mostly sitting in a barn. One winter I made a motor swap to it and it got 305 engine and front discs and power brakes.

Last summer I got an idea to take her back to traffic again (after 12 years of sitting) becouse it was asked to attend a local nostaltic car show.
I replaced exahaust totally, painted it wich turned out to be retro wornout patina style paint. Then 305 blow out due stucked piston rings.
Installed much better 89 Camaro 305 cid and th700R4 transmission, saginaw 700 powersteering gear. I had 64 GM power seat thet also got into 58.

No it is ready to drive everywhere

We are getting beat up with below zero and snow this year. Guess the new ice age is finally starting?
Just wondering, do they use salt on your roads? What was the production on the 58s Sedan Deliverys has to be low? 1956 are rare. I believe there were only 2000 made and most of them were for the military. Mine was a true work vehicle with no heater or radio.
All the vehicles, I have owned, I have never had a pick-up. Always liked them just never had one.
Later,
Karl.

No Ice age here in Finland! We gonna have a warmest february ever measured! Last week vintage motorbike ice-race was canselled due weak ice and rains
Bialtohon World shampion shipshttp://www.kontiolahtibiathlon.com/wch-2015/ in next week are in danger becouse of melting snow and warm weather.
But that what the global climate change is. Some areas get warmer some areas get colder, extreme weather conditions come more often. I like winter to be a real winter with lot of snow and sub zero temperatures. Not this!

All I know is that of all 58 Chevies the most rare is sedan Delivery. I think they made at the most couple of thousand cars. For export few dozen. Its not much of all 2 or 3 million "58 Chevrolets

But like other car brands. At this Buick has the right forms and the right price.
And to do it as little as you want.

I've got to send a picture of your car to one of my mechanics. He has that body style Chevy coupe[49-53?] setting collecting dust. It runs but he just needs a little incentive.

My current non-FL's:

Been years since I was into VWs but the black beetle is sharp. Its hard to tell but it looks like a split window? I'm guessing a 51? Doesn't the bage on the front alsoI help to ID the years? IF it is a split window, I thought split windows had semaphores in the post? Again, hard to tell by the picture and I don't even know if they used semaphores in Norway? Sorry, been a while but I really like the car and [not a Ford person] but I like the black County Squire also. In my opinion, clean black vintage cars are the best.
The country & buildings behind your cars looks just like they could have been takin any where in S.E. Pennsylvania. Possibly Lancaster area around the Amish area.
Oh well, enjoy your cars!
Karl.
