This is a post that I put in the Engine forum today. Any help/ opinions/ alternatives would be much appreciated!

Hi Forward Lookers,
I have just built a fresh short block for my '60 New Yorker (413). Prior to this the car suffered from horrendous overheating issues. I have always been a little suspicious of the tiny slits that the felpro gaskets have to allow water into the cylinder heads. Has anybody else had problems with this? I have a set of (very well) used original tin gaskets that have much larger holes in this area. I would really like to hear from people, positive or negative about the felpro gaskets as I'm ready to bolt the fresh heads onto my new short and dont want to be pulling them off again to swap gaskets!!
