Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | I posted most of this in another thread on the 4/24/15, but I dont want to continue polluting his thread with this, so I am putting it here. It is in reference to a set of front bumpers I bought for my Dodge 4/24/15 "I bought them on Nov 6 2012 and the chrome is peeling off them already and there is rust coming through in parts as well, my car isnt on the road yet, so the bumpers havnt seen any road use or rain for that matter I have sent him a few emails trying to contact him and I have not had a reply I will say the price for them was reasonable (US$900.00) and the chrome work looked excellent, but where its peeling, it looks like there has not been any copper plating done, as in, no copper on the steel and no copper where the chrome is curling up and from what I understand, no copper means it will peel. I hope he reads this so he can respond as I dont like to bad mouth any supplier of parts, but crap is crap For interests sake, I will email him again tonight (my time) and we will see if he replies He also uses the ebay name "Chromeminer" Web site http://chromeguy.com/ I hope you have better luck than me and if anyone knows this guy, I would be happy if you let him know he has at least one un happy customer" Ok. as of today, there has still been no reply Tried calling the phone number on his site and all I get is an engaged signal (may be because its toll free in the US?)

This place is a rip off, cheap chrome done in mexaco. Your first question should be .... Do they use copper....nichol.... chrome....? If no copper then that should be your last question too. The most reliable, consistant and high quality plater of bumpers out there is Tri city plating in Elizabethton Tenn. Normal cost from $400.-600.00 for a bumper bar.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | If you look at Chromeguy's web site, Chromeguy says he uses all the correct processes I should say that the price it cost me (as stated above) did include shipping I need to get new batteries for my camera, so I can post pictures of Chromeguy's wonderful work I know its a cost saving to not use copper, but really, whats a reputation worth I might be on the other side of the world, but the internet crosses oceans in a second and by referencing Chromeguy as much as possible, the web crawlers will pick up on the reference to Chromeguy and people from all over the planet will see this. If Chromeguy will contact me, I am sure a resolution to this can be found

Extreme Veteran Posts: 314 Location: Fairfield County, CT | I like Keystone. You drop off your bumpers at the nearest facility and they ship them to their plating shop in MN. The work is great and guaranteed for life. I had 12 pieces done for the 58 Dodge; 3 piece front bumper with 6 spuds and 3 piece rear bumper. Total was $1600. That may sound like a lot but it was actually cheaper than Bumper Boyz. Here's a picture of the large pieces. (bumpers.jpg) Attachments ---------------- bumpers.jpg (198KB - 201 downloads)

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | $1600 for all that is cheap The reason I bought the bumpers off Chromeguy (still no contact) was when I got the rear bumper done here for my dodge, I walked away $2000 poorer At least that chrome is still there I must get around to getting new batteries for my camera, so I can show the quality of Chromeguy's work

Expert Posts: 2633 Location: Minor Hill, TN | I cleaned and polished my own trimming . If I had it done by some one else and it came out crappy I would never do business with that company again
