Temporarily suspended to cool off Posts: 316 | So the all of the red plastic parts on my car have faded to white. I have the needles on the fuel and water temp gauge repainted, and they look amazing. However, I'm at a loss what to do about the amp warning light and oil warning lights. They are just bleached totally white. Can they be painted? died? some other unforseen and very slick fix? I really would like to fix these.

Temporarily suspended to cool off Posts: 316 | The car is a 1960 Dodge dart. I have two of them, one a Seneca and one a Phoenix. The Seneca is being parted out for the Phoenix. Once I have the Seneca fully parted out, which that is nearly done, the plan is to fix the huge holes in the floors and take it chump car racing. The Phoenix is also missing it's carpets, door panels and seats. That being the case, I plan to make it a street legal LSR car. I'm thinking race it in C/CPRO or C/FALT and C/BFALT. The paint used on the needles was Model Masters Fluorescent Red. It looks pretty close to origonal. The needles were faded white and origonally it was just a single stripe of red down the middle. I chose to paint the entire arm which will make them easier to read. https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xta1/v/t35.0-12/1128650... also if anyone cares, I have a video showing the testing of the fuel guage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aS0pjb_SjcE

I've got some of those 5000 mcd led's hanging around though, I could wire one up with a resistor and go that route.

Temporarily suspended to cool off Posts: 316 | https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xta1/v/t35.0-12/1128102... I did this instead! I used lens lite repair film to cover the faded plastic. I did have to clip off the plastic rivets and fully disasemble the pods but 3m plastic emblem adhesive stuck everything back to the metal plate super solid. More solid than the plastic rivets even. The results look fantastic!

Comparison pictures? actually I did an entire series of photos of the job. This the before photo. As you can see, these dudes were faded big time. https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpt1/v/t35.0-12/1129647... This is the pod dissasembled https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/v/t35.0-12/1129329... The film applied to the lens and everything trimmed up and reassembled https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/v/t35.0-12/1103960... Everything done up and ready to go back in the car. https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xta1/v/t35.0-12/1128102...

Temporarily suspended to cool off Posts: 316 | nope. so I just removed the entire instrument panel, which is actually pretty easy to do.

Temporarily suspended to cool off Posts: 316 | No just the instrument cluster assembly. It holds the shifter, heater switch/valve/, speedometer and gauges. That said, the plan is to keep going and remove the entire dash. It needs repainted and the easiest way to do this right is going to be to just gut it. it needs POR sprayed up inside of everything to do something about the levels of rust in there. So get the dash out of the parts car, get it all painted, then rip into the phoenix.
