I had to put a new seal in the tailshaft on my powerflite. and seem to have lost the bolt the holds the brake adj lever to the uppper part of  brake shoe. does anyone remember if this bolt  is just a standard bolt or a bolt with a collar on it so the lever swings freely? my manual calls it screw but it shows a pic of it that appears to be a bolt, nut and lock washer.

Thanks for your help !

Just pulled mine out and was wondering what bolt you are talking about. Maybe I can help but not sure what you mean.

My memory is really going I guess. but yes that is the shoulder bolt I was talking about . thanks for the pics .

thanks guys !
I have something scraping inside the drum. I have to see what is going on in there. that lever might be moving around in there rubbing on something.

found out what was the problem on the e-brake drum .. when I replace the rear seal in the powerflite you have to take the shoes and all the hardware off and the round cone that surrounds the rear seal. well I did not have the cone hammered on far enough . the backing plate was not forward enough. that why the backing plate was moving around with the brake shoes and hardware . I did have the shouldered bolt in place after all. I did not forget to install it after all.

live and learn .
