I have a Horn ring for the 55/56 Chrysler or Imperial. The GOOD news is that it is not broken like so many of them. It does have some pitting, so not new but just what you need for the low bubget driver, so what is a fair price?

George-
I sold one on eBay a few months ago for $157.50. It had some very minor pitting in limited areas, but was otherwise shiny and presentable.
Talking about steering wheels, how are you doing on the recasting of the 1957/1958 Chrysler wheels?

I don't mean to hijack the discussion but my 56 Windsor has no horn assembly components and I can't find an exploded diagram of what I need to make it go toot. I repaired the ring by drilling small holes in the end of the spokes, then I inserted small finishing nails and used JB Weld metal epoxy to cover & fill in. I then cleaned it up and it seems to be holding rather well. Of course I haven't used it since I don't have any of the contact assembly so we'll see when I have to eventually use it.

SO, does anyone have an exploded view of the horn assembly? I believe that I need part #s 1571283 (horn contact switch), 1642310 (horn contact ring) and 1604921 (turn signal switch horn contact). I think there's more missing that may involve bushings or spacers and springs but I'm not sure.

Thanks,

Ron

Good morning George and thanks. The repair I made on my horn ring seems to have worked although the first time I acknowledge the guy who pulls into my proper following distance on I-77 in Charlotte might prove me wrong. Anyway, I secured some parts this weekend which included the Horn Contact Ring PN#1642310 and Horn Contact Switch PN#1571283. I haven't installed them yet but hopefully this week. I'll be doing some repairs to the wheel as well using two-part epoxy so I'll post the results in time. Right now I'm working on converting the front brakes to disk. I got the basic kit from Roger at AAJ Brakes. A really helpful guy and from my perspective more interested in getting my car going, and stopping, than making a bunch of money off me. He actually suggested and then provided all the parts info for me to source them locally.

I forgot to mention that I acquired the horn parts form a fellow by the name of Ben Watson. He's a second generation MOPAR man and lives in TN. He has access to, and on-hand a lot of stuff. His email is moparbenw@gamil.com. A couple of things I'm still in need of is the small Windsor script that goes just below the trunk lid on the right side. I also need one hood spring; Ben had a good one from a wrecked imperial that was perfect but not number 2. I'm also looking for a Southern, or any part of California, Chrysler dealer script. The holes are in the rear for one but mine is missing.

Unfortunately, you will likely receive no answer from George about the horn ring. He had a serious health issue about 8 months ago, and has remained silent since.
