i just love the 60 pioneer interior. looking for pictures of the 60 seat covers.
i'm not into showcars and would buy an old faded worn seat cover set from a 2 door. or does anyone know were i could find a set in any condition or color (original auto interiors does not have them).
thanks!

Any well established upholstery shop who does car interiors may be able to help you. Here in the US, I have seen 1960 car interior style books showing actual fabric swatches for seats, head liners, door panels, etc. for various Chrysler Corporation makes and their respective models. SMS may still have some of the original fabric pattern reproduced and for sale but expensive. If you like the style but not the expense, you just need to shop for fabric that looks very close to the original. Any good upholstery shop should have lots of catalogs for you to look at to see if you find something close in the fabric. The original fabric (which I have a 1960 Dodge Pioneer) is nylon based, thinly woven, and is fragile because of the age of the material. If you need more details, please PM me.

thanks but i believe finding vinyl like this utra atomic vinyl with the randomly placed squares in 2015 is close to impossible. nobody today "understands" mid century design. those designer are no longer around and they were true geniuses. i'm already in my 2nd half of my expected lifetime so sms is not a possible source for me (unless they change there business practice).

could an upholstery shop reproduce the heat formed vinyl? i do not think so. sewn it does not look the same.

yes its a cheap style seat cover, but thats, for me, is part of the charm of it. i never liked the "rich" $$$ imperial upper class style interiors. to me jet age mid century googie is a typical lower class thing.

Sid, look up ultra sonic vinyl welding

I looked into it a bit before I made the door trims for the dodge

Looks like you need the very expensive machine, then you need to make metal dies for it

Kind of where sms has you over a barrel

Thats why I stitched mine, and your right, they dont look the same, but I have door trims

Here are some more pictures for you. These were made by SMS, of course.

I have a question, why does this Pioneer Front Seat Cover has the high Drivers Back Rest? I thought it is Phoenix only, Just Like the Fury in the Plymouth Line? Is it custom?
