Regular Posts: 77 Location: Denver | Hello, I am restoring the original AC system in my 1962 Ghia. It came with a Model 906, which I believe was used in 1960 and 61. I am missing a vacuum actuator as circled in red in the diagram below. The parts books lists four different vacuum actuators, for the following doors: by-pass door, deflector, defroster, recirculating door. Could someone help me identify which door actuator I need? Any sources for same? Thanks! John Attachments ---------------- 61 Model 906 AC diagram.pdf (131KB - 234 downloads)

Expert Posts: 2312 Location: Arizona | In your diagram don't the show the same part number for all four of them? Maybe they are all the same.

Regular Posts: 77 Location: Denver | Unfortunately the parts book shows a different number for each one! But the numbers are the same across all makes, so the setup should be the same for any car with the Model 906 system. Thanks.

Expert Posts: 1506 Location: Colo Spgs | Hola John With The Part in your hand --- take it to a local NAPA and only say it is from A Chrysler Corporation Vehicle that used a Model 906 Heater - A/C Unit. They should be able to match what you show them. At the same time you will learn that part was used for ______ years. Rodger & Gabby COS

Regular Posts: 77 Location: Denver | Thanks Rodger. Sorry I didn't make myself clear--I am missing this part so I can't take it down to NAPA! I think I have identified that it is the bypass door actuator, and I have a used one coming to me...best, John

Extreme Veteran Posts: 480 Location: The Great Northwest | John, The vacuum pot you are missing is used to open and close the recirculation door for the a/c. When the door is open, fresh air is pulled into the system. When it is closed, the air in the passenger compartment is recirculated. The pot itself if fairly generic but the mounting bracket and actuator arm is very specific for the recirculating door. The bracket is mounted to the firewall using two of the screws that hold the sealed surround piece in place. Here are a few pictures of the assembly. Hope this helps, Arland (DSC04133R.JPG) (DSC04135R.JPG) (DSC04136R.JPG) Attachments ---------------- DSC04133R.JPG (198KB - 187 downloads) DSC04135R.JPG (189KB - 208 downloads) DSC04136R.JPG (191KB - 217 downloads)

Expert 5K+ Posts: 6498 Location: Newark, Texas (Fort Worth) | Is this worth $900? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1957-1958-1959-Chrysler-Dodge-Plymouth-DeSo... HEATER / AIR BOX........... Heater / air box, this unit is untested, the item being sold is the item shown in these photos. I am not sure what years or model car this heater / air box fits. Was told it fits a Mopar convertible but I truly don't know. There is a Number on the side, reads MODEL 906. (see last picture) Also note a small broken piece of fiberglass in the first picture. Any help identifying this Unit would be very helpful, I would update the description! Please give me a call or send eBay message! Thank you, Mike
