1961 Chrysler Imperial Custom 2 Door

22,612 original miles
413 engine 350HP Push-button transmission
889 produced in 1961
Have original Bill of Sale. Always been a Colorado car.
Note: Imperial was its own brand in 1961, so the name Chrysler does not appear on the car.

This car was garaged its whole life. Since car fax doesn't go back to 1961, I verified the mileage by the following. The chrome is immaculate from being inside, as well are the rear taillight lenses. When preparing the car for paint, very little wear was present on the front end. The paint was original. The front driver's seat was not worn much at all. I purchased it from a lady that had kept it in her garage for 5 or 6 years. She said she bought it from an estate that had it for years inside their garage. The engine has not been touched and does not smoke or use oil, just like a 20,000 mile car would. The car needed only minor body work. No rust was found in floor board, trunk, doors, etc. Front end was perfect. I left the car stock except for the adjustable air ride shocks in the rear. You can see the compressor and small tank in the trunk area.
I've driven it to a couple of indoor shows where I received a trophy each year. I drove it to Good Guys and NSRA for a couple of years. It draws a crowd and is always the only one at any event.

Under the Hood
Air conditioning -- works good except sometimes high speed fan doesn't
Power steering -- Rebuilt original pump
Rebuilt original Carter AFB 4 barrel Carburetor
New Spark plugs and wires
New Fuel pump
New Battery & cables
New Regulator
New Hoses and belts throughout

Under the car
New complete factory Dual exhaust from manifolds with mufflers and resonators
New shocks up front and new adjustable rear shocks
New Brakes (drums turned) and Wheel cylinders with new rubber lines
New Coker wide whitewall radial tires Less than 300 miles on tires
New Upper and Lower Control arm bushings, Center drag link, Idler, tie rod ends
New Strut bushings

Interior
Complete custom interior made to look like original. New carpet and padding was custom installed by the upholsterer using adhesives.
6 Way adjustable front seat works perfectly. Have the original seat belts, not installed, because I have new matched webbing but has not been sewn.
Complete new Weather stripping including felts, glass channels, trunk, firewall seal, door seals
All electric windows have been removed, cleaned, tested, and lubed
Electroluminescent Dash works fine
Radio works good as does the Rear speaker. Antenna has problems.
Original trunk "cardboard" in great shape. To enhance the appearance in the trunk, a newer type carpet was custom installed.

Outside
Newer paint. It's been done a couple of years. Complete in jambs, under hood, firewall, under trunk lid. The side area on the roof was originally painted white. I elected to paint this the same as the car.
Original bumpers taken off and plated. I made sure I got my bumpers back as they were nice.
Stainless polished. Glass good.
Head Light buckets and Taillight pieces are excellent and have not been touched. See pictures.
Found new old stock Clear front parking lenses. These were clear in 1961, not amber like 62s and up.
Original Hub caps. Wheels were bead blasted and painted black.
