Location: Valley Forge, Pa. | I was looking for one of these a while back. I played around and tried to make something to fit but I wasn't happy with the results. I believe when I was talking about it, I got the impression they are not that easy to find? I think someone here said they were available somewheres, maybe Gary's[?], but I forgot. I stumbled accross this the other day and decided it was time to PAY. Maybe they are easy to find and a lot cheaper, but, IF anyone else is looking for one, I got this from AMS Obsolete. It is polyurathane and fits really nice in my spare steering column parts so I hope it goes in nice and makes a difference.
I think it is really expensive but I was willing to pay if it will help any. It was $44.90.

Location: Arizona | How tightly does that thing fit? Do you have to sort of press it in or is it a bit loose? I keep wondering if the easiest solution to this that wouldn't even require taking things apart would be to just spend $5 on a tube of polyurethane and inject it into that joint. Point the wheels straight and let it cure for a couple days. |

Location: Valley Forge, Pa. | It fits nice and snug. Almost wanted to add a little silacone spray but wasn't sure if it might cause it to fail sooner?
I was wondering about something like you suggested also, but never tried that. I made a couple different bushing but none ever worked as well as this so now I figured that I wished I had bought one in the first place for all the time I wasted. Now I have a bolt through it, it is easy to take apart. Hopefully, that doesn't matter as i hope this will take care of it for the next 50 years?
I read down a little and saw someone talking about this insulator and saying it can be bought for less that $20. I didn't find one for that price but that is a much better deal than what I paid. Can some one tell me who else has these cheaper for anyone else that might need one.
Thanks again,
Karl. |

I bought one on Evilbay a few months back and was going to see about getting them remade in polyurethane but as yet I'm still to do it. I found a guy who can do it.
I've got to make sure the polyurethane that is used isn't overly hard and brittle as I've seen many hard polyurethane suspension components fail prematurely because it's too hard/brittle.
