No, it didn't sell, it just ended with no buyers. You can find out if you do a search of completed listings, and it will tell you the status, if it sold or not. |

Wouldnt you take a side on picture, cut it and join it first and realize what an abortion you were about to create
The +$2500 would not have been bad if the engine ect was ok, you could get that out and save the cars dignity buy finishing the hack job and letting it become soup cans
Not against customs, but not all customs are good customs, this has no aesthetic appeal, maybe 1 1/2 feet longer in the doors?

Location: Under the X in Texas | Factory stock is just a starting point. I still think the '57 Chrys would make a fabulous roadster ute by cutting off the entire roof and lowering windshield height about 35%. Restorers have ZERO original thoughts.

Location: Parts Unknown | I love wagons. And I love slippery, sleek aesthetic design. The 57-59 four door wagon roof
is neither and grossly clashes with the body. The "WTF ?" decision to lop the fins off the wagons
for that "amputated" look only makes it worse.
One only has to see a 1960 NY'er wagon to understand how mish-mashed and dumpy the 57-59
design was.
If I owned a 57-8 Chrysler/DeSoto wagon, I would be unable to restore it to stock. It would
get proper passenger car fins put on it, and a 2 door "utility" wagon body to get some semblence
of sleekness.
I see this wagon as a good starting point to build one the way Mopar SHOULD HAVE built them
in the first place ! |

Location: So. Cal | 4drs may not be ideal on a sedan, but they are perfect for wagons. 2drs are not nearly as useful on a wagon and don't look that much better IMO. I really prefer 4dr wagons over 2dr versions. And I disagree with you about this being a good starting point. This is not a good starting point for much of anything and whoever did this conversion sealed its fate. You could possibly do as Wayne suggests and convert this into an el camino type of thing, but it has been messed up so badly that to make it work and look right, you would need to obtain another set of front doors, graft them into the rear part with a decent amount of length to them. And then lengthen out the whole car to make them fit well and fix that mis-matched dog leg area. How did that happen? It is a lot easier to shorten than to lengthen, and his metal skills were obviously sub-par on the original job. So I don't see this as anything but a literally funny car for funny's sake, or as a collection of parts. The latter is the most likely.
But....I wholeheartedly agree with you about putting real fins on it. But I would probably just start with a hearse/ambulance conversion and restore that because it would be easier. |

build a LWB wagon with the more common SWB, the LWB nose clip, and a few other
less-than-easy-to-find stuff like the Hemi drivetrain, and misc. wagon parts.
I am all for a four door, but that roof is going to have to get sleeked to something like
a 60 hardtop wagon, or I'll stick with the stock 2 door roof for as-clean-as-it-got at the
time. And frankly, I hate the short doors on the 4 door wagons for getting in and out.
AND I am the guy who wants to haul lumber and pipe. I want the single front seat
"handyman" 2 door wagon !

Location: NY & VT | I could never understand why they didn't at least extend the fins onto the rear doors. Other than that I like the look of the wagons, where utility should come 1st. If they had tilted the rear end of the fins/tailights at the back outward like the other models it would have interfered with loading at the tailgate, so that I understand.
In any event this fool ended up with an abortion of a car... it should have been left alone, I'd bet $$$ there are less than 10-20 of these wagons left |

one is having a tough time reselling. Still offered at $4,500 buy-it-now. I like that the current owner has it running and driving. I wonder if it might be easier to sell if they invest some more into it; paint, interior, wheels and tires? That can be a slippery slope into a black hole, though. We have all seen cars with $$$$ receipts for sale at $$. |
