Location: Western Colorado | I need a undamaged hood for my 58 N/Y'er wagon. The hood is more damaged than I thought until I started stripping it.
I posted this in the wanted section but hoped someone in the Colorado area might see this first.
This is the last piece (besides the upholstery) before this project is done!!!
Thanks

Location: The Mile High City | Bob, have you tried Wayne Maddox? You probably have, but his name comes to mind. I don't think Speedway or Svigel's currently have either '57 or '58 Chrysler or De Soto hoods to use. Would 1957 and 1958 Firedome, Fireflite, Adventurer, Saratoga, and New Yorker hoods be interchangeable? |

Location: The Mile High City | It might be worth checking Svigel's. Although they do not have any 57 or 58 De Soto or Chrysler non-300 lwb cars in the yard (that I know of), they do have a section of loose doors and hoods. There might be a possibility there.
Can't wait to see that wagon, Bob! |

Location: Western Colorado | I haven't found anything local. I did contact Don Petty in Phoenix and he does have a 57 N/Y'er hood in good condition. He also has a fairly good grill. My grill is usable but not very nice. I think I'll go to Phoenix next week. Does anybody need anything from AZ?
Hopefully the wagon will be completed sometime this summer. The hood and finish the interior upholstery and she's done!!

Location: Colorful Colorado skier on the license plate | I have heard that Svigel's has been sold. Soon to be replaced by buildings.

Location: Western Colorado | Thanks everyone.
I found one in Phoenix from Don Petty. It is from a 57 which has a medallion on the nose, so I'll need to weld up those holes. Other than that it looks real nice. Also picked up two original 14x6 1/2 inch wheels. Expensive but nice.
Getting closer to completion!!

Location: Florida | You should expect the hood from Don to be exactly as he describes it. Bring some extra cash - he probably has other parts you may need.
If you have some time, ask him about his other cars. He has a fantastic Forwardlook collection - Adventurers, 300s, etc.
A few years ago, I was out in Phoenix for a trade show, and he was more than happy to show me his cars. |
