Location: The Mile High City | As Rick mentioned in another thread, Svigel's Auto Parts is going out of business. The property is so valuable now, it was just a matter of time. Their website is http://www.svigelsautoparts.net/ It appears the new parts are done. Has anyone been out there recently?

Location: The Mile High City | I went by Svigel's this weekend and the back lot is pretty much cleared out. No more forward looks, just a few (less than ten?) old hulks scattered around. The out buildings are gone as are most of the stacks near the main building. I saw Jimmy out front and there were several customer cars out there, but there is not much left. bummer.

Location: The Mile High City | Yeah, as these types of places go out (and it seems the Denver area has had many treasures leave), the old car hobby gets weaker and more expensive. I certainly am more reluctant to buy a part that needs to be re-chromed now that there are no local chrome shops. When there are no more local parts yards, I guess we can turn to eBay, but man-o-man that gets expensive. It is going to make restoring our old Chryslers and De Sotos cost prohibitive, let alone the Dodges and Plymouths. God help you if you have a sedan.

Veteran Posts: 291 Location: Colorful Colorado skier on the license plate | This was my favorite yard and parts business. Years ago, the late 1960's through the late 1990's, I spent a small fortune there, almost all on Forward Look vehicles.

Location: The Mile High City | I went out to take a few last images yesterday and today. I was lucky enough to run into Wayne Svigel today! He said there is about a month left. Everything is cleared out of the back lots. Location: The Mile High City | Total bummer! Did Wayne say what was going to go back there? If the buyer is not going to take the front - I just don't know what would go back there except for more auto salvage! Rick, I like the new avatar image! I wonder what happened to all those cars? Crushed out, I guess.
