Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | Nice car, love it, but those that are more knowledgeable of the 60 ram cars can tell me, I didnt think any of the full sized 60 model cars got an alternator, I thought it was only the slant sixes in the valiants and the alternator didnt turn up until 61?

Far as I know, alternators were available throughout the entire Mopar line starting in 1960 - not standard, but definitely available.

Location: North Australia | Mike, that is interesting info regarding the D.Davis listing. Would be good to know the history on this car. I think I have seen pics on this one previously. I was looking forward to seeing a LWB 60 Dodge at Carlisle last year, but none showed up. Steve. Edited by 60 Imp 2016-05-24 7:12 AM

Its because of the alternator that I wondered of it is genuine myself, If it is genuine, you would need to find the correct exhaust manifold to accept the generator bracket to fix it As for the Darrell Davis book (which I do not have), its my understanding that its not comprehensive because the build sheet listings are not all readable and the ram cars were built as required not actually in build runs where you had groupings of them, so there is a possibility of "missing" cars from the list. In my reading of stuff about these cars over the time I have been on here, I seem to remember that the book does describe "Things to look for" to help determine the validity of an unlisted car, but I also remember some discussions on some cars that seemed to be genuine, but had one of the "clues" missing or something slightly incorrect Anyway. I cant afford it and I doubt I will ever see it, good luck to whoever buys it
