Did you notice the dual snorkel air breather on this one? Is that factory? Or, homemade? I never saw one this old/style before. Location: The Mile High City | that is weird ! I have seen extra holes cut into cleaners, but never seen anyone take the time to weld in an extra snorkel. Different lengths too - can't be a factory thing.

Expert Posts: 2490 Location: Kansas City, KS | I was so preoccupied with figuring where an AC compressor could be mounted with snorkels so close together that I didn't even notice they were different lengths! Ha! I guess that answers my question. Good eye, Mike!

Location: The Mile High City | Different lengths and diameters! My guess is the one on the driver's side is the imposter; the welds appear a bit rougher and the thang looks rotated so the drip rail isn't quite downward.

Location: The Mile High City | Did someone here snatch up the '55 Firedome sedan?

Location: The Mile High City | If someone snaps up one of these, let me know. Not enough to do a new thread.

Expert Posts: 2490 Location: Kansas City, KS | I didn't snap any up but I did enjoy browsing. Thanks for posting, Mike! Btw - I have a cheaper 57 Imperial grille (4 headlight model) if anyone needs one closer to KC. The early, two headlight models use a different grille.

Location: The Mile High City | Thanks Don - yep, once in a while I will post something that looks like a really hot deal - like that '55 De Soto. I check back and the listing has been pulled - presumably because it sold. Then I wonder if someone saw it on Craigslist or maybe here? If they see it here and buy it - it would be nice if they could post - just to know they found it here. There was a '57 Royal Lancer sedan and a '55 Chrysler St. Regis I posted here and they were picked up in the other threads. Both of those looked like hot deals too. I like to think it helps the sellers when I post it here. But who knows? The flip side of the coin is sometimes those cars go way out of the RMR. What are you gonna do?

Expert Posts: 2490 Location: Kansas City, KS | Money makes people weird. I can see where a buyer or seller wouldn't want to mention a purchase in a known community especially if a very low or very high price. There is also those times we see an ad posted here and people start critiquing it harshly only to have the seller turn out to be fellow member or become a member just to respond. I'm debating whether to sell one of my cars later this year. I don't know how to feel if my car and the potential sale gets analyzed on this site. That said, I did buy 2 of my Imperials from ads other people found and posted on this site and my Newport from another site so it does have benefit for others. Again, thanks for posting!
