What is that device covering the battery? It is a clean look. I like the exterior color -Sheffield Silver? I have never seen this color on a 61? May not have been a popular color in the 60s.

Thats just the style of battery, like this one but the handles are different.. Then just the battery bracket on top. While it seems pricey for that US vehicle and it could of been the wrong car to pour money into.. I don't know much about a pricing of some FL cars.. I just looked up the average price for a ok condition 4 door 61 Newport then added the figures to get to that stage..(All in AU dollars) Car $7000-$10000 Car shipped to freighters and then to AU $7000 Taxes and Port charges $2000 Show quality panel beaters and paint and chrome $20k-$30k Engine and running gear $10k Interior $5k-$10k AU $51K to $69K They could of spent less with some things or more. I just got an average on all things in Aus. I'm not sure of the costs of importing to NZ but I'm pretty sure it's even more pricey.. As I said, it might of been the wrong style of car to throw money at but 4 door or 2 door, we just don't see them getting about over here or in NZ.. We already have the handicap of what the dollar is worth to the US and then all the importing costs before we even start. I couldn't even imagine what Glenn's 58 Fury would be valued at.. Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | Rear bumper rechrome on my dodge was $2000 I dont see anything wrong with the price except he wont get it. I have my dodge up for sale at $30000 and havnt had so much as a nibble, although, I will admit the bodywork standard on that car is better than mine, but my car is not $56000US either ($70540AU) forget what the rate for the $NZ is and neither car is a chevy, so almost no one over here knows anything about them or what any of them are worth

Elite Veteran Posts: 977 Location: Sydney, Australia | That's what I'm pointing out in my above post. Whilst someone in the US might see it as over priced, in other countries they are more expensive because of various reasons.. Had a short conversation with James that if it's not a Chevy most people in Aus don't know or don't want to know and to be quite honest, Chevy don't even touch these cars in comparison.. Almost like looking at someone wearing striped pants and a polka dot shirt.
