Expert Posts: 3480 Location: Montreal, Canada | The quarter windows on my 1958 Plymouth hardtop coupe barely work, and when they do, it's awful... they are all out of adjustment and roll down and back up very awkwardly, and when fully down, they stick up over the beltline for almost an inch... I got the pass side one to go down lower... only to have it slide out of the center channel roller track!! Now, I think I will bring that to a guy who has the skill to repair and adjust windows, and who has more patience than me... But, I have figured out that the rearmost roller track on both sides might be the main culprit here, as it seems that the tracks made of plastic are broken, and the window pivots at the very rear of the windows fall off that track. I wonder if these are not 57 windows I have in my car, as I don't remember seeing these rear tracks in my 58s. Could someone here help me out? What were the differences in these windows between 57, 58 and 59 (if any)?? And, would it be possible to find good rear roller track parts anywhere?? Big M? Edited by soiouz 2016-08-08 9:17 AM | ||

Expert Posts: 1906 Location: Ontario, Canada | The plastic tracks are frequently melted, broken warped etc and the pins on the glass frame that ride in them are sometimes rounded, pitted corroded etc. I've replaced the pins many times but the plastic tracks are hard to find. Sometimes the tracks are just spread apart too much to hold the pins and guide the glass. They are in an awfull place to work on!! If you need any other parts, regulators and tracks I have them.
