Hello,

As you might have seen in another thread, I have the possibility to reproduce the plastic connectors for Power Window switches through 3D printing. The parts are made of polyamide (PA 2200) and are very accurate, identical to the original ones. If there is enough interest, I will produce them for you.

The price will depend on the quantity of course, and here is what I can propose, based on the cost of production (price without shipping) :

Master switch (4 switches / driver's side)
- 5 to 19 units : $33
- 20 units or more : $17

Single switch (1 switch / passengers)
- 5 to 19 units : $17
- 20 units or more : $9

If you are interested, please let me know in this thread.

Thank you.

Hi,

I got a few questions so here are some additional information :

- The parts are 3D printed through a method known as Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selective_laser_sintering
- The material is a polyamide (PA 2200), very well suited for this application
- The prices above are the final price you will pay depending on the total quantity I will produce. In other words : the more we are, the less expensive it will be.

Thanks.

Good work Vincent. There is a definite need for these. I hope the word gets out to ALL forward look owners that you have these available. The single switch ones will also interchange with 60-64, as well as for some 59 etc. electric door lock switches. I will certainly tell my customers that you have them!

What years will these work on? If they fit newer stuff, you might be able to expand the market in other forums?

Thanks Greg, your input is important to me.
I also sent you an email about those connectors a few days ago.

AFAIK, those work for '57 - '59 Power Windows setups.
But as Greg pointed out, there might be other applications as well.

So, it looks like a C note would cover a full set of 4 pieces, correct?
Shipping should not be all that much as there would not be much weight.
Keep us posted, OK?

OK, here is what I have so far :

christine-lover : 1 full set
58wedge : interested
mikes2nd : interested
57plybel : 1 full set
miquelonbrad : interested
fin junkie : 1 full set (perhaps 2)
soiouz : 2 full sets
My57Saratoga : 1 full set
57desoto : 1 full set
FINS! : several sets (at least 1 set I suppose)

So that's a total of at least 8 confirmed full sets, for the moment being. We're still in the first price range projection, but that's fine.

To be able to start the production, I will need a commitment from you, as well as a first payment. I'll send an email to each of you.

It looks the same, but then someone should measure the distances between the connectors on a '60-'62 master switch

There is a slightly different pattern to the switch pin locations. Same holds true 64 as well.

Update : due to the global interest, we are now in the second price range for the single switch connectors.
So, the price for a full set has now dropped to $60.00

I'm in for two sets. Any chance some can reproduce of find a source for the electrical connector you use with this, that grips the pin? That is often in big trouble too . the harness will fix it for sure, but sometimes just a pin is wrecked

Hi John,

Thanks for the interest, you'll receive a PM shortly.

As for the electrical connector, I have no source for it, but you might try with Greg Leggat ("LD3 Greg" on this forum).
He does have a source, as he reproduces the complete harnesses.

Update

Allright, I have launched the production of the first batch of parts.
They will be ready by September 15th.

Also, I'm in the process of looking for the right material to reproduce the covers of those connectors.
I'll let you know if I succed in that.
I hope, in the end, to be able to offer a complete set : connectors, covers and screws.

Two years ago I purchased some of the terminal ends from Narragansett Reproductions, their website is http://www.narragansettreproductions.com. They don't list any terminal ends on their website and asked you to contact them. They were called power window pin terminals.

Hi Ole,

At this stage, the orders for the first batch are closed.
I will keep this thread open to prepare for a second batch, but I have yet to see if there is enough interest beyond the first batch.

I have added your name to the second batch list.

Thank you.

The production of the first batch is under way.
They should be done by the beginning of next week.

I have calculated the shipping costs (with tracking) : it'll be $8.00 per shipping - up to 2 full sets - to the US.

I will contact you separately for the shipping, once I have the parts done.

Any chance you would make the 60-64 model? If you would not want to do that project yourself, would you share your contacts for someone else to do them? Thanks! Joe

Hello Joe,

I've added your name for the second batch.
Thanks.

As for the 60-64 model, I'd do it gladly if I had a model to work from. But I don't, at least for the moment being. My contacts are not special, I just drew the connectors on a 3D modeling software and used 3D printers that I can rent at my former engineering school for prototyping. Then I turned to a local 3D printing shop for batch production.

Update
The first batch is being shipped out this week.
I'll probably get the second batch into production before mid-october.

Interchangeability
I have made some research concerning the interchangeability of those parts, using the '55-'58, '59, '60 and '61 parts catalogs. Those parts are known under references 1779276 (master) and 1779268 (single), but only for the '57-'58 cars. Most probably, they were only serviced (and therefore referenced) during those years and they were included with the wiring or the switches after that. Based on the references of the switches and the wiring, I was able to cross-reference some of their use.

I may be missing some applications, but here's what I've been able to gather so far:

Master switch connector
Electric Window Lift
1957 All - 1 per car - Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler, Imperial
1958 All - 1 per car - Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler, Imperial
1959 All - 1 per car - Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler, Imperial

Single switch connector
Electric Window Lift
1957 All - 3 per car - Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler, Imperial
1958 All - 3 per car - Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler, Imperial
1959 All - 3 per car - Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler, Imperial

Electric Door Lock
1958 All - 2 per car - Imperial
1959 All - 2 per car - Imperial

Electric Seat Adjuster
1957 All - 1 per car - Plymouth
1958 All - 1 per car - Plymouth
1959 All - 1 per car - Plymouth

Tailgate Electric Window Lift
1957 Sub. - 1 per car - Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler
1958 Sub. - 1 per car - Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler
1959 Sub. - 1 per car - Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler
