Elite Veteran Posts: 688 Location: Winston Salem, N.C. | I have a 4 barrel intake manifold, casting # is 1619826, showing is 2-7 R. also. Pictures attached. thank you for your time, Jerry Whitfield Winston Salem, NC reply here or call 336-765-8312 thank you for your time also, the intake manifold installed on the 318" in my car is 2206383, with small letters 6-13 on it. if someone could decode it by these, numbers, I would appreciate it. Elite Veteran Posts: 688 Location: Winston Salem, N.C. | hi thank you for a reply. Will my 4 barrel carb (pictured) fit 318 engines beyond 1958? If so, through what years will it fit and if there are different 318 engines (?) which ones will it fit. thank you for time to help me. Also, what Chrysler Corp. cars other than plymouth used the 318s that my manifold will fit? and what years? sincerely jerry whitfield winston salem, NC

Veteran Posts: 113 | Fits poly motors 277,301,318 through 1966. Plymouth had these motors as well as lower line dodges. Trucks too.

Veteran Posts: 295 | When I saw the photos I was like, well, the 318 poly intakes sealed all the way around the "china wall". I really only know this because my roommate's 62 Plymouth has the 318 and my 57 Dodge has the 325 poly. Both are polys but my intake of the air gap design whereas the 318 seals to the block. I didn't know for sure what that one in the photo actually would work on but I suspected that, being a poly and being the china wall it would likely fit on the 318 but I didn't know about the 277 or the 301. There was some interchange between the early hemi intakes and the polys. The intake I have for my poly, being the air gap style meant it would work on my 325 poly I forget the hemi size it came off of but 315 rings a bell. Was there a 315 hemi? Great old thread. I'm actually searching for the information to decode the numbers on my 345 hemi block. They are NE56341162. I sheet from Hot Heads decodes it as a 56 Newyorker 4 barrel 280 hp. Could it be as simple as NE being the first letters of New Yorker? The 5 and 6 makes sense but that's all I know. But I'd like to know more. Thanks, Wayne

Ralf: Looks like your Royal's 325 poly has had the 4 bbl Power Pack up grade and/or it is the optional "Super Red Ram" so my guess is the manifold PN is 1735 774. Might be cast as such. They are 4 bbl for the raised block 315/325 and fit either poly or hemi.
