Hi Dan, the wagon suffered an engine and light interior fire [dash area]. The car is solid, except some front floor areas, the hood is heat warped and NG, and the right front fender is missing. Let me know what you are needing, and I can check it out.---John

Dan, I looked the 2-door wagon over inbetween cloudbursts today, the passenger floor area is rusty, and the door glass is crazed fron the heat of the dash fire. The tailgate is in good condition with no rust, and the spare tire well appears to be in excellent shape. I wasn't sure if you were working on a wagon or a sedan, but this is the only '55 or '56 I have currently. Please let me know, John

Hi John,

Still have that 60 Chrysler sedan? If so, how's the stainless trim around the door windows? If it's good, and still there, what'd you want for the trim around all four windows / doors?

Many thanks for your time,

The closest thing I have would be a '57 Chrysler, I am not sure if this latch panel would be the same, although the fenders are basically the same. If you know this for sure, let me know and I can check it out. BTW, beautiful car!!! ---John

I can't take credit for owning the car in the example picture. The car is Tom White's '58 Adventurer Fuelie.

As for the latch panel, my car doesn't have one. I am trying to compare pictures I found on the internet.

Hi Bryan, I checked the '60 out, and it still has the stainless trim around the window frames. Generally good condition, but there are a couple of tiny dings in a couple of the pieces. These would be fairly easy to fix, however. The price for the set would be100.00. Please let me know if you are interested, John

Need the following parts from your '61 Plymouth.

1) Need right side horn.

2) Need parking brake pedal assembly with warning light switch.

3) Need wing nut for battery hold down.

4) Need the plastic clip in the center of the headliner that the sunvisors clip to. (Sunvisor holder?)

Items #2, #3 and #4 may also be on other Mopars of the era, but the horn is probably specific to the Plymouth.

Hi Rob, the '61 I have has a good visor center clip, and a right side horn. I will need to test the horn to determine if it is good. This Belvedere was not equipped with the parking brake warning light. If you still need these other items, please PM or e-mail me. Thanks, John

Hi John, just making sure that you got the $$ for the window trim from the 60 Windsor as well as the horns...Paypal shows that the money transferred to you just fine.

I sent a bit more $$ than we agreed on just in case I needed to cover any extra shipping for adding in the horns...

Let me know when you ship out, and how you ship so I know to look out for the package.

Many thanks!

John, sweet deal, thanks so much again!!!

If you happen to run across a 61 Newport by chance, there's a wonderfuly elusive piece of trim that goes just below the trunk lid, across side to side across the back...lemme know.

thanks again, will let you know when box gets here.

John, WOW, if I could put dibs on that piece of trim...if you get the car, and if the piece is there, and if it's in decent condition...just for a driver, need one on the car where there is none right now...this piece is often off of cars when I find them...

Let me know what you find out and when...I'll get right back to you.

thanks again!

Brian,

There was a "NOS" one on e-bay that just sold for $325.00. Valley Vintage Auto Parts bought it. Maybe he is selling it? It might be for his 300G.

Item #8060925839 if you want to look!

BTW.... Saw the pics of your engine compartment. Wow! Nice and clean

Hi Danny, YES, i watched that one on ebay...dahum... That's the problem with having a Windsor or Newport...or even a NYer...you fight with the 300 folks for ANYthing you need...such is life LOL

Thanks for the kind words about Pearl's engine compartment...She's absolute pleasure to have, but with almost all of her components 46 years old now, I'm driving her less and less...the factory ribbed water hoses, for instance, are now starting to be not-so-supple...even with rubber treatments and natural oil feeding...must be the engine heat... I'm at the crossroad...replace stuff and upgrade or leave it and try to preserve and drive less and less...
Just had to replace her brake shoes not too long ago, and now shocks are needing replacement...
How original do you keep a car for how long?!?!?
Such is my delima now...

Hi Bryan, I will let you know on that molding if it is there, as soon as the car arrives here. Your car is indeed beautifully original, but if there is a safety issue regarding replacing an original part, I would make your safety a priority.---John

Hey John, one more thing... I just read in another post that you recently got a 59 Chrysler sedan in... would you happen to have the small plastic under-dash mount bracket for the emergency brake? It's the bracket that the emergency brake handle shaft slides through... mine is cracked through, and I've only seen one other one that wasn't in the same condition...

many thanks again for your time!

Dahum, one more thing...you'd think I'd get it all together before asking!!

John, also needing a left hand rear tail light bezel for the 61 Newport if you find you have one that's not broken, cracked, or pitted too badly...again, for a driver, so no perfection needed, just one that's not cracked and broken like the one on the car here...

thanks again John!
