Hi Jerry, I have a couple of these available, but both have scratches in the glass that you can fee with your fingernails. It would be still better than not having any glass at all. ---John

I was looking for a pair of rear drums for my 1961 Chrysler Newport and Clive pointed me in your direction. Might you have something that will fit?

Hi Adam, I'm pretty sure that I can help you, but I will not be back to the yard until about the 11th of November. [On vacation]

Please send me a message at that time if you are still needing them, and I will be happy to check for you. ---John, Big M, using my wife's computer.

G'day Smitty,

The parts I am seeking are as follows:

Factory Air-con.
Rear window defogger.
Rear radio speakers.
Rear license plate frame.
Sill moulding (rockers).
Stone shields.
Rear bumper guards.
Chrome drip rail moulding.

All of the above and more were optional extra's for the Newport.
At present the Ozzy dollar is down so depending on the price I might have to hold off till it gets back up otherwise I'd be paying double the cost.

Thanks.

Regards,

Alex.

Hi Patrick,

I have just two '55 Chryslers here, and both were missing what you are needing. The one car still retains its hood medallion, although the plastic is stress cracked and crazed from the sun. ---John

Hi Bob, I have both the upper [as marked] and lower trim piece. The verticle piece is actually a part of the parking light assembly, I do not believe it's separate. The upper piece is not cracked and the mounting pins are intact, but it does have light pitting on it's surface. The price for this piece would be $30.00. Please let me kinow if you are interested, John

John, I'm looking for some decent trim pieces for my 55 Custom Royal Lancer.
Do you have the center crome in the front and the right rear quarter stone deflector (the same was used also on 56 Coronets).
I guess it's almost impossible to find a decent plastic insert for the front or rear V moulding but at least I have to ask.

Hey Thord, George Laurie IS REPOPPING the two badges for the '55. He has made two for my '55, along with the domelites lenses. He emailed me yesterday to say that they are being shipped. He also has the fromt turn signal lenses and the tail light and backup light lenses repopped. They are not inexpensive, but considering that Mother Mopar ain't selling any anymore, they are relatively cheap!

Is turn about fair play?

Big M- I'm in need of a salvageable steering wheel for a '55 Desoto. I'd even take a wheel from a different year/make that would fit the desoto column- I'd love to have a square Chrysler or Plymouth wheel but I know those can be pricey. Thanks!

Hi Jason, I looked at the DeSoto wheels I have, and all are cracked terribly. I had about the same luck with the similar vintage Chryslers I checked. I may have one of the lower line Plymouth wheels that is respectable, if you like, I'll check it out for you. ---John

John, I appreciate you looking. While the mid '50s Plymouth wheels will fit the column, they don't have the 'dish' that the Desoto/Chrysler wheels have. I thought about running the wheel off of my '56 Plymouth but it's relatively flat and would set the outer rim of the steering wheel almost 3" forward of where the stock Desoto wheel is now.

The wheel on my car has pretty much disintegrated to nothing more than the steel ring and inner structure, so at this point anything would be better than nothing, and I have no problem with trying to repair a cracked wheel. If it's not too much trouble, would you mind snapping a picture of the best wheel(s) that you have and email them to me? My email is hotrodplymouth56@yahoo.com. Take your time- I'm in no huge rush. I'd prefer a '55 or '56 Desoto wheel but at this point I'll work with whatever I can get my hands on.

Thanks,
-Jason

The '55 wheels I have are also down to the steel core, although the plastic handgrips remain. It doesn't seem like you would be gaining much with these. ---John

Hi Chuck, I have one rust-free right front fender, there is a light dent just behind the headlight area on the side, but not major.

I don't currently have any 4-door sedans or hardtops, but I'm hoping to pick one up from a local farmer if a deal can be struck. ---John

Hey John, and while you're lookin' - could you see if you have one of those chrome & rubber tailgate bumpers? The metal on one of mine is cracked - probably broken by some bratty kid jumping on the open tailgate 40-50 years ago.
Also, you probably already know, the taillights have two lenses (a red lens and a clear lens) and no chrome dividing piece. That chrome I was talkin' about is vacuum-plated onto the clear piece.
Thanks.

Hi John,

I didn't have any luck on the taillight assemblies, I must have sold them some time ago.

I do have the tailgate 'bumpers', the rubber on these is good, and the potmetal is not pitted. These are $25 each. Please let me know if you are interested,John

Thanks for checking on the tail lights, John.
The chrome/rubber bumpers - I'll take both of them. Please PM me with your address, and if you have any of the items below also.
Do you also have the left-hand side chrome bumper extension? It's the metal piece with the oval face mounted on the bumper that sort of looks like a bumper guard. You can see the entire right one in my pic above, but only the top of the left one.
I also need a front passenger door glass in Solex - I understand that is the same as any four-door sedan.
Thanks.
