The only mill I am aware is still operating is the AK Steel mill. I think they produce stainless rools, too. Might be the same. Copper lantern? Never heard of it. Mark Stamper? I have heard of the guy, and the name, but can't say for certain I have met him. If ya have any reason coming through this way again, gimma a heads up. Ya are one of the few cats at this site how have actually been of help, and still stay grounded. I'd like to buy ya a beer someday.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8947 Location: WHEELING,WV.>>>HOME OF WWVA | dover was our co's next on the list but i decided livin on the road wasn't much fun . the worst option was the strip joint 1.2 miles from the motel . i did get to meet a ton of really nice people . on my first day of getting assigned to great foreman that i knew , i asked why he picked me and 2 others from the steubenville local . he replied by telling me that when he came to our area he was treated with the respect that travelers usually don't get . picking you guys was real easy . so i started out in the gang but after a few weeks i was moved up to general foreman when a spot magically opened but that's a whole other story . i have to say though the people i met in MANSFIELD , OHIO and got to know , were absolutely the best people i could have ever met working out of town , hands down . i was asked probably a dozen times to move to mansfield and promised i'd never have to worry about work but as many people know that do work on the road , my heart was back home but there are times though , i wish i'd had made the move ---------------------------later

Regular Posts: 86 | Yeah I'm not from here. Born in N ST Louis, Raised East SF Bay Area, moved here with an ex I met in the USAF. Went back to cali for a few years and hated it so much, I moved back here. That BS out there is NOT life. If ya willing to work, and avoid the people hurting themselves with drama, it's great. Even my Lady is from Pittsburgh. She hated the city "life", too.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5006 | Rural ohio is all pretty good people(they face the same issues as everyone else). Its pretty rough if you get to far out to find a lot of work but they survive. Dover\Mansfield is close enough to Canton to find work and there is a fair amount of industry there so its not way out in the nothing. You can live cheap and have plenty of amazing outdoors in your backyard(without all the nuisances of other places(fire ants, nasty rattlers, scorpions ...). Not to hot, not to cold. I'm in the Akron area.
