I am going to be replacing the doors on my '60 Imperial. The rear doors have a door stop that I have been unable to remove except without drilled out the rivet. I cannot figure out how it is bolted into the door. Is there some other way to remove this other than drilling out the rivet? It must be similar on other Mopars. Thanks

no other option... rivet has to come out.

I use a grinder and skim the top, no damage.

I will probably replace with a bolt/cotter pin if I can find one small enough.

It's not bolted to the door.
It slips through and dead ends in a cushioned sleeve that is an integral part of the welded door frame assly.
The rivet must come out.

Someone sells a perfect replacement match for the rivet, from time to time on eBay.

yeah just to confirm there is a rivet on the inside that you would pay double heck to get to so yes just go at the door rivet.
