So would truck seats work

I am not set on being orignal on the seats so wonder if anyone has used some modern car seats?

I am thinking dodge, ford or chevy truck seats would probably be best?

Here for example are some Dodge Ram Pickup.

I got a pair of power bucket seats from a early 80's Ford Crown Vic. They are much wider than you have pic's of. They are also thick and comfortable. I also had the upholstery shop add some more 'cushy' to it. There is about a 4 - 5" space between them over the tunnel. With new carpet and upholstery they look really nice! I'l post some pics later. Still have a lot of little stuff to get done before it is ready for the show May 20. Jerry

I am looking for some nice seats that are near exact width, my car has a 392 hemi so its not original and I will keep the original seats and not try to hack the car up but I can get something like this for a couple hundred bucks and recover for another couple hundred to color match.

how much is the sms center sections? I was just thinking about comfort vs the old seats but I am on the edge about losing the original seats. These would make the car a dream to ride in and if I can make them look near original it wouldn't be too bad.

the Chevy truck seats have the over the shoulder seat belt in one unit, this would give me even more safety and I can probably get a set of these for practically nothing, I can cover them with near original material.

Bingo, just found a set of good shape for 100$ on craigslist.

seats from a Sebring Convertible have the lap and shoulder belt built in...
if you are thinking buckets + center console, i would try a route that has the shoulder belt built into the seat...
not sure on the width though...

okay total width door jam to do jam bare metal is just a little bit over 61, seat is supposed to be 59 inches.

I will check out some 90's cadilacs a 2001 Deville to be exact.

I am looking at these seat, I can adjust the "seat cushion" and padding to be more straight forward. These are buckets but kind of form a big bench seat.

They are power and will have the seat belt built in. They look pretty cushy and I can get the base seats for like under 100$.

I am thinking about trying to find turquoise leather

of course it wont look like orignal, a big square, i understand that

But i gain safety, and comfort and power seats.  Heck I could probably find heated seats also

Like I said with a little adjusting I could tweak the looks and bolstering a bit.

the 300's had bucket seat styles.

The worst is the control for the power seat - would be better if one could add the old chromed one.

The plastic cover could be painted satin black.

There should be photos here on the forum of Sebring seats upholstered for to look period correct - came out kind of nice.

yeah those are nice but im trying to keep the bench seat looks.

I can chrome certain things and probably will. The buttons would be good. and maybe some other areas, maybe the whole bottom surround like they did factory.

i could chrome the upper seat belt housing but that would draw attention to it?

I would chrome the control panel and buttons and the other hump. I was thinking i could move the pattern "out" a bit(blue).

Chroming the obvious "plastic" parts would at least make it look a little better.

Mike, I finally found the thread with the Sebring seats, reversed trim to what you want, but you should perhaps consider….

When I restored my 1959 DODGE I purchased from an accidents MB SEC500 the complete set of programmable seats in black leather. All was electric with individual memoy, seat heating  and with the electric controlled brackets to bring in front the seat belts. The size would have fit very well, but then I found it too over for my old car and abandoned this project.  - SERGE -
