2 door convertible
Unlicensed. Purchased from QLD 25 yrs ago.
Chrysler big block 383cu 6.3 Litre (not original)
3 speed A-727 torqueflite 8 automatic (no shifter)
Body is straight, ZERO rust, Been garaged for over 25 years whilst with current owners.

I believe this may be the former Queensland car which is a four door sedan front and chassis. From the doors back came from a convertible body imported in pieces.

So the push buttons have been blocked off and he states no shifter. I'm guessing it had a floor shifter but taken out. Must be left in neutral to start and also to roll around..

Over spray on the bonnet but I'm wondering what happened to the boot lid.

The old Voxson rocks on sticker must of made it's way to a lot of Aussie owned cars in the 80's.

If that was a four-door sedan, it was a heck of a conversion. I wonder if it might have started out as a club sedan?

Only the front clip and chassis. Is the chassis the same length? The vent windows don't look like they are a HT or convert. Looks more like sedan vent.

Interesting, not too far from me, but not having a lazy 30K laying around, I wont look

Looks like there was a fire in the boot or on it?

30 for a car that looks to need a full resto is optimistic to me, but I have been wrong before

If anyone wants it eyeballed, I think its about an hour from me

The 122" wheelbase frame/chassis should be the same across the board for all Dodge passenger car models and body styles except the convertible which has a special cross member.
The front clip should be basically the same across all passenger car models and body styles with some differences in trim.

That must have been a club sedan with the top cut off. Fun, but it should not be expensive.

The top of the windshield gives it away as a sedan. Looks really wrong on a convertible.

I agree. Must have been fun trying to fit a folding top to it!

Most of these you see are "parade cars" with no top. At least this one includes a folding top. It would be interesting to see pictures with the top up!

I had a chat with a club member who knows of this build:
The car started life as an Aussie built 4 door custom royal sedan. The doors that are fitted are full length convertible doors and the rear quarters are from a convertible.
The original sedan was very rusty, and in searching for replacement parts he came across the convertible.
Back in the 80's an imported car attracted import duties where as car parts and body panels did not. Brian recalls only the quarter panels and doors were imported, along with the folding top.

I originally thought that was the reflection of clouds. But on second look it does appear to be damaged paint.

Wonder if it's ever been registered over here as a convertible after it had the chop. If not, there will be a lot of money for engineers reports etc.. They must of attached the vent window to convert doors because they are definitely not correct.
