How do I install the door window on my 1959 Chrysler Saratoga 4 door sedan? I just received the replacement and I want to install it myself.

Your photos are 23 kB which is less than 10 times the maximum allowed, 250 kB. Very difficult to see.

I am in the process of re-installing the driver's door window in my 56 Dodge so I know how to take it out (without window channels).

Not sure about a 59 Chrysler but for sure the inner door panel has to come off first. This requires removing the door handles (special tool or luck) and the arm rest, etc. There are clips along the edges and maybe the odd screw.

Might be different if electric windows versus manual. You didn't say.

It's manual. The door panel has been removed.

Hopefully somebody with more experience will chime in soon. All I can say is that with my 56 Dodge, I needed to replace the window tracks and cat's whisker's so I removed the inner window/door frame and the vent window with the foreward window track (watch out for small "hidden" (in plain view) screws). Once that was out, I took out the one piece rear and upper track. At that point the window is quite loose in the door. For mine, the window bottom has a pin and spring clip that fits into a slot in the top of the window regulator mechanism. Through trial and error, I was able to tilt the window in the down position (arm inside the door) and get the pin on the window to the wide opening at the end of the regulator slot. Then I pushed the clip and the window was loose. Then I carefully pulled the window up through the door opening and out of the door.

Installation will be in reverse except I will be adding new channels and whiskers.

I can't confirm that the above will work for you.

this is just like any other car. Take the bolts out, take the scissors out and put the new window in. hook it back up, yes the window channels might need some attention.

Many are rusted and lube it up, replace any soft wear items

In effect! By taking the vent window assembly off, (which consists of top and side sheet metal screws and a bottom bolt), the window will fit right in. When I got the Saratoga it came with no driver's door window. I vacuumed the remains from the bottom of the door. So you were correct, sir just like the '56!
