Hello,

The FCA Archives is happy to be able to provide you with a copy of the build card for your historic vehicle . However, due to the volume of request we receive and the modest staff that we have, we are unable to offer the decoding service and copied material that we have in the past. Please provide us with proof of ownership, i.e. a copy of the title or registration, and your mailing address and we will send you the build card. The pictures of the original serial number tag along with your title will be very helpful.

We will, when possible, provide you with the original selling dealers name and city.

Thank you for contacting us and we hope that the build card information is helpful to you.

This is what I expected - the decoding was inaccurate and dates was wrong on many cases.

There's many guys here that can help with decoding the IBM-card.

The problem might be that their next step could be no IBM-cards.....

I'd say get 'em now while you can.

I didn't realize it but FCA dropped the Dart and the 200. The only cars available are the 300, the Charger and the Challenger. Doesn't sound promising for the future.

From all of the advertising we are bombarded with it would seem that the focus is on trucks not sedans.

The Original ? Or just the microfish copy. Whats about the cost for this questionable service.

On a related note... Things are headed this way.

Porsche used to offer their build sheets ( aka: Kardex). They switched to a Certificate of authenticity so that private info wasn't shared. It's basically Porsche letterhead with the engine number, trans number, VIN and colors. Now for 2017, they have announced they will NO LONGER release engine serial numbers UNLESS YOU GIVE IT TO THEM FIRST. Making the COA almost useless.

If I had a Chrysler without a build sheet I'd buy the build sheet ASAP. Before the door closes.

Just had 3 done , build cards only with no decoding but a letter with each with original dealer name and they returned my money order? So maybe they are not charging for just a copy of the build card?
