Location: Valley Forge, Pa. | Not caring about how long they last, I would rather be able to stop than worry about having to replace my pads more often. What is the best material for stopping pads for my front brake conversion? |

Location: So. Cal | Semi-metallic has the best stopping power. Organics are not great by any measure. Ceramics make less noise, last longer, and the dust is lighter and easier to wash. But they don't stop quite as well as semi-metallics. |

Location: Northen Virginia | I used the original OEM pads in my daily car for over 15 years and the original rotor still ok after 190,000 miles.
For the first time the price of the original Japanese pads are out of logic so I searched for a well known brand in Rockauto and I ordered the best of the best (rotor and pads) and it was still cheaper than the OEM.
When the items arrived at home I noticed that everything was MADE IN CHINA so i returned them all. The only USA item I could find were the Bendix Ceramics CT-3 and let me tell you they stop a LOT better than the OEM. They may dig in to my rotors a lot faster but who cares.
I can not tell you about others type of pads because this is the only one I ever used other than factory OEM.

| Of course, NOTHING is better than N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ .... outlawed because of asbestos laws by the EPA -- N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ are "grandfathered in" / legal / permissible --- and NOTHING yet has equaled the softest stopping
ability of ++ N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ......
Depending upon what changeover brake system you utilized ---- that may Not Necessarily be possible..... if you want to KNOW, call me -- Craig -- 516 - 485 - 1935 ..... Long Island, New York.... |
