Just got in a 2 DVD set of vintage commercials and other stuff for FWL cars from musclecarfilms.com.

Haven't watched yet but have seen a few clips of other years https://youtu.be/zbzrxowPjZw

These have been out for years so maybe old news for y'all but thought I'd share if not!

With stuff on internet not being very permanent thought it would be cool to have the dvd's. Looks like a lot of stuff like this: https://youtu.be/q9rHA-1BiCQ

Not sure if these generated any interest amongst y'all, however thought I'd share a few thoughts now that I actually watched some (two of four) of these DVD's this weekend:

1) It is actually FOUR DVD's, so probably more than 8 hours of content. Not that it matters, but looks like DVD's were made by a hobbyist - i.e. hand written titles on burned DVD's. Looks like they've been selling them for years on an advertised website, so presumably they have their copyright access in place but not sure.

2) The quality of the content, much of which is black and white, varies widely - presumably as did the available source video.

3) Contains various Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth/Desoto promotional videos, dealer information videos from Chrysler, period commercials, and some road tests etc. for 55-61 cars.

I'll have to say I did spend a lot of time with my thumb on the fast forward button - but there were certainly a few gems in there, including some road tests facing off '57 Mopar products versus period competition from GM and Ford - with some hilarious (to me) track performance metrics ('The driver will turn the headlights on when the car reaches 60 MPH!)

But a lot of it wasn't of interest to me personally (I mean, how many Lawrence Welk / Chrysler promotional spots can you watch in a sitting ). The creme of the crop is probably available to stream online for free, and not sure I'd buy again, but again may be of interest to some of you hardcore FWL junkies out there...

5-10 years from now those DVD's will most likely become unreadible because of their homeburned quality, or simply everyone has already tossed that vintage DVD player in the trash years ago...
