Finally after a couple summers of working on other people's rides., decided to take a break and work on the Desoto again...got it painted not to long ago and have been polishing stainless for a month now...(oooodles of stainless on this ride)
It's got a ways to go., but at least it looks like a Desoto again!....Gotta find some trim clips for the rocker and roof stainless trim or make something?...Any leads on clips would be a big help (Maybe Big M may have something)

Cheers., Guy

Wow. As in really WOW!

That car is gorgeous, and I'm really not a fan of blue. I'm a little jealous . . .

I love it! My favorite DeSoto is the 1960 and for good reason - there isn't another that trips my trigger like these to. I've tried many times to find a 2 door to my liking that was affordable but never could. Maybe someday it will happen.

As for the color blue? I love it too - at least I have that in common with my '59 and I DO get lots of compliments on the color (and the car even though it's a 4 door sedan and next to last on my list of favorite FL DeSotos).

Am anxious to see the finished product, maybe this year?????

WOW it's gorgeous. I love the blue. I had an Adventurer Sedan in that color back in 1977.

Thanks for all the kind words., it's been a long project...off and on....going on 3 years now since I have been working on other classics for other people...but I'm back and focused...all the chrome turned out fabulous., the paint turned out pretty darn nice for painting in my garage, engine rebuilt, trans rebuilt., was on a rotisserie a couple winters ago., stripped all the undercoating and painted it...so it's getting a full work-up., new suspension, etc etc...next up,....buying the original upholstery for the seats etc.

After this, I have a 60 Dodge Matador that I tore down about a year ago....started restoring it too., but thought I better get this one finished up first.

Cheers..>Guy

Guy - wow, that car looks absolutely stunning - nice job! Chrome, stainless, and paint all look amazing; all that hard work is paying off in spades. Personally one of the best Desoto years to my eye also.

Looks like the same paint color as my '60 chrysler... (Paint code DD)? Chrysler calls it Polar Blue, Desoto says Arctic blue but sure looks the same.

Nice job, looking forward to seeing more progress pics as they happen!!

Do you have a thread about the Matador? I have one myself & would love to see a thread about it when/if you start one!

Oh, and I agree with everyone else, stunning Desoto!

I probably have a thread on the Matador., but it's gotta be a year+ old now....It's a 2 Door, 383 or 361, can't remember off hand..., PS, PB, no AC, sky back window....etc...White top and Burgundy paint.....I attached a few picts of how it is now....already stripped it., needs trunk floor and pass. lower quarter., but pretty solid for being midwest car....won't be getting to it until the desoto close to being finished.

Stainless is endless on this beast...and yeah., it's been a long process, cause I hammered out most of the dings and sanded, repolished 'em.

That's a really nice color on a really nice looking car! My grandpa has an all-original (including the plastic seat covers) '60 Adventurer sedan and I always thought the '60's were kind of underappreciated by most FL people compared to the preceding years.
