Expert Posts: 3768 Location: NorCal | Welcome to the board. First you'll need a 4-barrel intake manifold casting number 1634262...used on both the 315 and 325. Once you have the manifold you can decide whether to use the original carb or use an adapter plate for a modern Edelbrock.

Elite Veteran Posts: 769 Location: Oley, PA | Dodge offered the D-67 Power Package for the 325 engine in 1957 which I believe included the 4bbl carb and dual exhausts. The correct carburetor for this setup is the Carter WCFB model 2532s. The carbs and manifolds show up for sale from time to time on eBay. You could use a different carb, but if you go with an AFB or the Edelbrock clone, it won't fit the small WCFB mounting without an adapter. I did the upgrade to the WCFB on my 57 Firesweep many years ago using a manifold from a 57 dodge that I found in a junkyard. It wasn't hard to do, though I can't say it improved the performance by any great amount. This thread may help too:http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=64021&posts=11&highlight=2532s&highlightmode=1#M529236

Member Posts: 19 | Thanks guys. the six pack sounds sweet, however probably not worth the cost, effort, or results with a stock 325 I'm assuming. I'll start the search for a factory intake.

I get more like 1639 769 for a 56 and 1735 774 for a 57. Edited by 56D500boy 2017-07-31 1:32 PM (IntakeManifoldPNs.jpg) Attachments ---------------- IntakeManifoldPNs.jpg (248KB - 171 downloads)

Expert Posts: 2196 Location: Muskego, WI | I put an Edelbrock 500 cfm carb on my 318 Poly and so far I have been happy. Starts easy, idles smooth and is responsive.

Expert Posts: 3027 Location: N.W. Fla. | If you can't find one on EBay or elsewhere T R Waters has modified 2 bl intakes in to 4 bl if originality isn't important. He was a moded DeSoto intake listed for $275. He might mod a Dodge one for you (OEM or aftermarket).

Member Posts: 19 | Are there any carbs that would bolt in? Holley, Edelb, etc? What is the bolt pattern for this 4 bbl intake? would this adapter on ebay work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carb-Carburetor-Adapter-3-or-4bbl-Holley-Sq... It Adapts 4 bolt manifold or carburetor 5-5/8" x 5-1/8" to 4 bolt manifold or carburetor 5-5/8" x 4-1/4" Edited by echodish@netins.net 2017-08-02 11:04 AM

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9604 Location: So. Cal | Yes, that adapter will convert it to use a newer 4bbl. Or you can re-drill the manifold like the one in the link above. The bosses for the larger pattern are already there. After that, you would also need to enlarge the throttle plate openings.

Expert Posts: 3027 Location: N.W. Fla. | There is an adaptor that necks down from modern to OEM size bore holes. Not sure about the Dodges, but the Chr hemi intakes you can bore through the adaptor & intake to match exactly the bore size you need for your carb. If you use an edelbrock carb it is drilled for the stud pattern on the chrs. The Holly isn't. All you have to do is unscrew the OEM studs & replace with longer ones. On my last 331 I used the adaptor plate and later added a phenolic spacer on top of it with the Edel carb.

Pic below is of the 4-barrel intake on my 325 Poly; the January '56 casting date means it was installed on a 315. Extreme Veteran Posts: 509 Location: Whetstone, Arizona | Being a 57 Custom royal Lancer it should already have a 325 4bbl engine with dual exhaust as standard issue

Veteran Posts: 139 | Wrong. 58 Custom Royals all had either the 350 or 361 B engines. The 325 was not available on Custom Royals or any 58 Dodge wagons.
