wanted 55-56 plymouth "torqueflite" script trim piece that goes on rear deck trunk lid.
Also can use one that says "powerflite".

Someone can/will correct me but I believe that 55-56 Dodge and Plymouths only got 2 spd PowerFlite automatics (or 3 spd manuals). No Torqueflites.

The Torqueflite was introduced in 1956 but only on Imperial, Chrysler and DeSoto, if I'm not mistaken.
It was available on all makes for 1957.

That was my thought. Allpar isn't that helpful though:

"The first TorqueFlite automatic transmission was the A-488, launched in the 1956 Imperial."

it was added later on in the year to desoto . the reasoning i was told was , the old 2 speed desoto trans was breaking crank shafts on downshift ------------------------------------------- later
