I am working on a 57 imperial and the old dash pad was ripped, ugly, and a project in itself to remove. I can imagine putting one in is a real pain to get right let alone locating a proper replacement. I decided to just paint the dash and it actually looks great so far. Its dark gray with black accents. Vents, speaker grill, top metal section above the gauges, and the vinyl trim around the base of the window is all black and the main portion of the dash is dark grey. Very pleased so far with how its turning out.

I ordered some vinyl paint for the remaining vinyl and have some work around the steering wheel to finish up. Will likely also paint the anodized aluminum, I cant get some of the scratches and blemishes to clear up. I bought an aluminum color paint from rustoleum and will see how well it matches up.
