Hi, Rick! It should be in our calendar of events 2017 thread. I think I even posted a link to the registration...

You bet, Rick! I put the calendar of events on a "sticky thread" so it is always at the top of the RMR home page - at least until the season ends.

If you think of it, please bring the steering wheel. I would love to check it out and buy it from you if it looks like it would fit.

I hope there will be others attending!

Cheers,
Mike

Mike --
I hope to bring the Big-Tailed Beast up. It does need a major cleaning since we ran into one heck of a rainstorm coming back from Ft. Collins Saturday afternoon. I also have to get a few gallons of 110 octane racing fuel as I like to have a few gallons of it, say about five gallons per 20-gallon tank, to boost the octane level of the unleaded stuff as well as to add the lead itself. Since the Beast is running on both primaries all the time, it does use fuel at a prodigious rate -- about 25 or so gallons to go some 270 miles.

I need to wash the De Soto too, Joe! Gadzooks! As I remember, leaded fuel is dang expensive. There was a motorcycle shop in Denver that used to sell it - I think the most you could buy at any one time was five gallons. Pure gas is difficult and expensive to find as is, but leaded is another story. For the BTB, it might all make sense but for the De Soto and the way I drive, high-octane unleaded with ethanol is acceptable (not good, but acceptable). I could probably even go with the 85-octane, but I don't want to push my luck too far.

Looking forward...(pun intended)...to seeing a bunch of good looking Mopars on Saturday, and hope the expected storms hold off until after everyone has gone home. Mike, I'm especially looking forward to seeing the Desoto. I saw Joe's Plymouth and got to talk to him two years ago, but hope a few more finned cars are in attendance.

The following Saturday I should see quite a few as I'll be attending the WPC national meet in Tacoma, and the Mopars Unlimited "Sunbust" show near Tacoma on Sunday might also have some oldies.

Mike --
Thanks for your directions. I got to I-25 easily enough and was progressing quite well at an easy 70 MPH until the creek at Larkspur, then it was stop-and-go, bumper-to-bumper, all the way to the Greenland exit. I zapped up there before 7:00 AM in just a little over an hour, but it took almost two hours to get back. But at least the weather was good and the I don't accident that caused the problem had any serious injuries.
Thanks again.
Joe

Congratulations to Joe Godec and the one-and-only Big Tailed Beast for Best of Class II honors (that's who I voted for)!
Glad to hear you made it home safe-and-sound.

All Forward Lookers in attendance were splendid. It was great to see Rick, John, Joe, Tom, Marianne, Neil, Ken, Chris, Tony, Ivy, Gerad, and a special appearance from Gary Sand (he even signed my book)! It was a lot of fun to catch up with everyone. A few images from the event. A C300 showed up a bit late, but boy was it a beauty.

This 300 photo caught me off guard (again). Thought it was a 1966 Volvo 122 for a millisecond.

It would be fun to see a Volvo "done up" as a cheapo 300B! Get rid of the Volvo block letters, hood ornament, and fender ornament; add Chrysler block letters, the 300B front ornament, tail lights, and 300B rear quarter emblems! Vola! a 300V!

Mike, it sounds like you have your next project! Although it may be difficult to buy 300B parts from someone if you disclose that they are going on a Volvo. My question is, would a 354 Hemi fit in the Volvo???

how true, Don!

the thought is a bit sacrilegious, but if I already owned one of those 122's, I'd be itchin' to do it!

No way! I don't think them there Volvos came as 2-dr H/Ts, only as coops or am I wrong?
I think the Chrysler 300 guys (and at least one from the Denver MoPar Club, John T******) would be after you with tar and feathers.
Personally, I think it would be funnier than heck as it's a really neat idea.

Careful. You need to define "fit" before you ask that question.

Mike, it looks like Joe will help you out with the project. And Dave has shown that the 354 Hemi will "fit" in the Volvo. Now you just need to figure out if the Powerflite will "fit" and where to put the pushbuttons on the dash and you'll have a rather unique vehicle! I would keep a gallon jug of tar removal nearby at all times though...
