Expert Posts: 3480 Location: Montreal, Canada | 1958 Dodge Coronet Convertible RARE vehicle! Excellent condition! The 440 motor runs like a dream, the 3 speed Torque flight automatic transmission was rebuilt in 2016 and shifts so smooth you can barely feel it. The interior and convertible top fabric are in immaculate condition, gorgeous red paint (there is some touch up needed in a couple spots) All in all, this car rides so well that it feels like you're floating down the road. You'll look great cruising down the road in this beauty, she a head turner for sure! $30,000 OBO Call Steve for more details show contact info (IMG_5022.JPG) (IMG_5018.JPG) (IMG_5019.JPG) (IMG_5020.JPG) (IMG_5021.JPG) (IMG_5023.JPG) (IMG_5024.JPG) Attachments ---------------- IMG_5022.JPG (100KB - 139 downloads) IMG_5018.JPG (38KB - 137 downloads) IMG_5019.JPG (107KB - 135 downloads) IMG_5020.JPG (128KB - 149 downloads) IMG_5021.JPG (122KB - 155 downloads) IMG_5023.JPG (101KB - 149 downloads) IMG_5024.JPG (161KB - 140 downloads)

Expert Posts: 3480 Location: Montreal, Canada | Viper Guy - 2017-08-15 8:51 AM Too much gingerbread for me. I'll take mine restored to factory original please. Agreed. But it is still a solid-looking 58 Dodge convertible for a reasonable price, in my opinion. Just finding these for sale anywhere in any shape is hard!

Location: The Mile High City | Well, the seller writes "or best offer". Too many modifications to list - some done well, some not. If anyone offers $22,000 for it, the seller should take the money and run. It would be interesting to see the data plate decode on this one. It looks a bit like a work in progress.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5006 | I would look it over with a fine tooth and comb, I see rust in the back trunk, curious if it was super bondoed before the red paint job. ? The spring special adds a ton of trim that's for sure... I mean almost to the gm level but not horrible. I do like the chrome nipple caps, they let you know where the things are missing, how nice of the owner.

Elite Veteran Posts: 854 | Unless this car is filled with Bondo ,It would be a great start and you could fix all those items and actually drive and enjoy it as you did .Finding any of these Convertibles at that price is not Easy .

Location: The Mile High City | ...eh, that's for a four door. In my personal, unbiased opinion the spring special trim is POW to the BANG. Regular trim is nice. (my car.jpg) Attachments ---------------- my car.jpg (195KB - 143 downloads)

Location: Parts Unknown | I bought a 58 Spring Special (Coronet 2HT) with the full complement of SS bling. Could not take it off fast enough. The GM comparison is apt. I suspect that 1/2 way through the sales year, Dodge people thought they could cut into GM sales a little with some overbearing shiny stuff to replace the tasteful original design and slathered it on like stucco. Amazing how many of these SS cars survive !

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9654 Location: So. Cal | I just can't get used to the super-wide spring special trim either. I do like the 2-tone paint scheme that this trim offers compared to the standard '58 version, but I think the '57 trim is really the better option for that.

Location: The Mile High City | As the trim widens, it grows on you! At any rate, I am a little surprised this particular car went so quickly. Good for the seller! "it is amazing how many of these SS cars survive" Doc D I think it is still rare to see a factory coded SS. All that trim they cranked out to desperate dealers trying to get the '58s off their lots is easier to get your hands on. Edited by Lancer Mike 2017-08-16 3:29 PM
