yes, a 58 savoy, didn't notice that before. i noticed there is another fl next to the 300 but i only could make out the lack of an upper rear view not the model or year.
was the fake spare tire cover painted roof/fender cove color on 2 tone 1960 furys?
heres a 56 chrysler at 6:02, driving bravely thru the storm. that spooky music and the narrators voice... even regular news reports had class back in those days! and looting didn't seem to be a problem back then. something has changed.

Location: Ponder, TX | My '55 Plymouth Savoy survived Donna sitting in a gravel parking lot outside my barracks at Orlando AFB, while I survived inside. The eye passed directly over us, but winds barely reached hurricane numbers at that point. Some stone chips from the gravel, but no major damage. Lots of nearby flooding, but most of the base was high enough to avoid damage.

| Does anyone still own a car that was driven through salt water, like the Buick shown in the first video? I have been working on a 1957 Savoy that has some very very peculiar rust issues. Not the kind that is associated with the rust belt, but more of the coastal sort (gutters, window channels). I had surmised that it was from Myrtle Beach or Virginia Beach and worked its way inland over time. However, it was obvious that lots of the bodywork had been done unnaturally early. It was almost as if something cataclysmic happened to accelerate the aging 20 years (or more). Sitting in salt water up to the hubcaps mustn't have been very beneficial? |
