I picked up my first Forward Look wagon, and my first Plymouth this weekend!

1959 Plymouth Sport Suburban. 318, 4bbl with Torqueflite, 9 Passenger, power steering, power brakes, power rear window, H/D radiator, clock, tinted glass, padded dash, AM radio, Deluxe Steering wheel, heater, and best of all, front bumper wings!

The odometer reads 50K miles, and when the door is opened, there is a note written "New tires, 28K miles, 1974."

28K miles in 15 years is a good sign that 50K is original...

Hope y'all enjoy.

Here is how I picked it up. It was sitting in the same spot for 5+ years.

Congrats! Going to be sweet. That pressure washer did a lot of good. Now to try a cut-polish where the paint is thick enough.

Engine (head) looks pretty clean. !!

Some inspirations:

How do you know the mileage isn't 128,000? 128,000 over 15 years is just over 8,500 miles/year and seems more realistic than 1,900 miles/year. Either way it's a great find and an awesome car, but I would go over the car assuming it has 128,000 on the clock.

Based on how clean the inside of the engine is, based on how nice the brake pedal rubber is, based on the original DPCD brakes on the car.. and that it has been off the road at least 30 years based on registration (pre 1985),

But who knows.

That looks like a great find, Ryan!!

Not too often you find a wagon that has been well maintained, most lead two rough lives if they are even that lucky, family hauler, then a handyman or plumber that finds wagons useful.

Nice find. I like the '59 Plymouth wagons because they used their own fin instead of a generic one. I don't think that blue is the original motor color for this car so that would lend some doubt into believing it has such low miles.
