Regular Posts: 82 Location: Eastern Manitoba | Does anyone know what the number on the glass should be for a 57 saratoga coupe? I am looking at one for sale that is marked solex 6-53 , but i am not sure that it is correct. I would really like to find a window for this car, otherwise it will probably have to be scrapped. I haven't found one locally in years of looking, and i bought one from ebay that arrive in 100 000 peices. Thanks

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9904 Location: Lower Mainland BC | I believe the Solex marking just indicates that the glass is slightly factory tinted, not 100% clear. The actual Part Numbers (PNs) are shown below. Based on the NOTE at the bottom, the big (32" at center) rear window is likely to be PN 1681 702 (untinted) or 1681 703 tinted. EDIT: The small 23.5" window is 1695 443 (clear) and 1695 444 Solex (tinted). However, IF the one you are looking at isn't correct, don't scrap the car. There are options including checking with Don Petty in Phoenix and John and Big M in California. They might have one. Sorry I messed up on the window PNs. You want the small 23.5" rear window. Those PNs are 1695 443 (Clear) and 444 (Solex) so the "3" in 6-53 might be pure coincidence or it might be part of 1695 443 clear PN. (I really have no clue, just trying to figure it out) Edited by 56D500boy 2017-11-02 11:02 AM
