I am looking to put my steering column back in the car and I bought a new column bib from Gary Goers to put on.  Does anyone have and answer on how the put the bib on? I think the bib will be cut and then I place it around the column.  I don't want to do that but the gearbox is at  the bottom and has the flair at the top. Can I disconnect the column in the middle to put on the bib?

What do you mean by the bib? I have a 1956 Imperial, so if I knew what you meant I could probably help out.

The collar piece that goes around the steering column on top of the access panel. Held on with about 5 screws.
