Subject: need air leaner brackets for a 57 Desoto Fireflite

Location: Morgan Hill, CA		I'm looking for air cleaner brackets for a 1957 Desoto Fireflite. It has one that goes on each side (front and back) of the air cleaner. Right now the air cleaner is just connected by the wing nut. I'm not sure what these look like but believe they may hook up to the valve cover or spark plug cover bolts.

There was a guy on here who made some new ones for a 392 recently They should be the same as far as I know. Do a search for 392 air cleaner brackets

Location: Lower Mainland BC		If I remember correctly Doug L. (dlyle) sold his 57 Desoto (??)

It (or one like it) is back on the market in Arizona (Doug was from California). Seems to have the brackets.

Location: So. Cal		The original air cleaner brackets don't work when you are using a Hot Heads intake because the carb is higher up. So I carefully measured the original brackets from my gold '57 New Yorker and then lengthened the model out to make it work with this manifold. I made them today. Despite my careful measurements, I had to tweak them a little when I put them on. The air cleaner sits at a weird angle and everything needs to be about perfect to fit, especially since I made them from a little thicker material.
