Grammi: I think that you will find that your car is a Desoto FireFlite (not just lite). The "clear" lens is the back-up light.

I think the Part Number (PN) for that lens is 1641 885

Googling on "1956 Desoto back-up lens 1641 885" gets you a number of hits including:

Both of the above suppliers are very expensive. I would look on ebay or join the National Desoto Club and talk to their '56 Desoto Advisor.
