Hi there just wondering if someone can decode these numbers on my Plymouth

LP1*50364

on the other tag in the engine bay firewall

153 20727
P0602L9016 SXS
Engine Number R318153359, This V8 was installed in the Plymouth late 1989, it originally had a Flathead 230 6 Cylinder

The LP1*50364 is the serial number -
L - 1958
P - Plymouth
1 - 6 cylinder
- - No letter for the assembly plant which means is was built in Detroit - the Lynch Road plant for Plymouths (as well as DeSoto Diplomats and Dodge Kingsways)
50364 - 49,364th LP1 built at Lynch Road
The "*" is just a spacer - prevented anyone from adding a digit to the serial number.

153 2727 - Shipping Order Number where 153 is day of assembly and 2727 is the daily sequence number. The Lynch Road plant had three separate assembly lines under one roof.

SXS -Colour -
S - Roof Colour - Metallic Coral
X - Lower Colour - Iceberg White
S - Insert Colour - Metallic Coral

P062 L9016 - Not sure what they mean. They are in the spot where the body and trim information is usually placed.

R318-153359
The "R" is for the 1961 model year. And it is the 152,359th R318 built.

Thanks Bill really appreciate it mate, slowly getting more history about the car

P062 L9016 maybe these numbers has something to do with the car being imported to Australia in CKD units, In Australia they used a 1957 Dodge Dash RHD on the Imported
58, 59 Plymouth, Dodge and Desoto's, I have a Friend who has a 1959 Dodge Coronet with the 58 Dodge Dash!
