Extreme Veteran Posts: 494 Location: Alberta | This not mine but I'll definitely take a finders fee here……..or even a pm to say thank you https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/regina/chrysler-dodge-and-desot... Description After collecting these Hemi valve/rocker covers for the past few years, I’m thinking of maybe letting the collection go onto another Chrysler Hemi collector. I have approx 40 pairs of covers. Most of them are matching pairs, some ( very few ) are not. Some have the wire covers, most don’t. I will only sell the whole lot and NOT individually. I have more that are not seen in the photos. If someone is very serious about purchasing this collection, I can get an exact count and let you know exactly how many of each style there are. **I don’t have the 300 Chrysler series or the Marine covers** if you look on Ebay, these sell for $200+ for the plain Chrysler to the $425 mark for the Imperial plus heavy shipping. So I averaged them out at about $200 per pair which would be about $8000.00 for the total collection. Now I would definetly deal on that but you’d need to be very serious about the purchase. Located in Melville and this would be pick up only as we’d need a truck to haul all of these. If interested, please reply to this ad. This ad will be removed if sold. Possible trades would be for a good running/driving classic car, muscle car, station wagon, or a removable top Jeep. Thank you. That maybe a deterrent for the cash strapped no show shopper and this KIIJII site has many of those types to many kids with the app. on their phone sitting in their Mommies basement with nothing else to do in life [oops inside voice]

(315s were solid lifter = extra bumps on the valve cover). Those bumps are shown here in the "before" photo: But hidden in the "after" photo:

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9648 Location: So. Cal | People were getting big bucks for them before they were reproduced. I sold a pair of Marine valve covers for $500, but now you would be lucky to get $250 even though those particular ones are not being reproduced. I see a couple of DeSoto covers so it wouldn't surprise me if he had some Dodge as well. But it does surprise me that people would insist on selling everything to one person. Who else, besides this guy, wants that many valve covers? So if he doesn't change his mode of sale, they are going to go to auction after his death. And I would definitely not pay an average of $200 per set. If I am going to buy that many covers, I had better get a big discount. Even $100/set would be too much since you can buy them new for $125. $50/set is closer to reality if he insists on selling as one big group. That would be around $2K according to his accounting. Expert Posts: 2289 Location: Eastern Iowa | At auction they would probably go for "choice lots" as in 1 pair would be a "lot" Bid $X for one lot and take as many "lots" at that price. That's usually the way auctions go around here if one had many of the same or similar items.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 494 Location: Alberta | I'll repeat myself once again, as I do quite often I've spoke to the young lad that owns these valve covers about 3 times now on some other items he had listed for sale. Firstly No there are no Dodge Hemi Valve Covers Secondly some of this collection has the wire covers and I don't see them included for $125/set USD which is $156/set CAD Thirdly I have my 325 Hemi advertised on Hemi Hotheads and I've had several inquiries on that engine….. from where So Cal so they must be overstocked on those down there……LOL. I jokingly say 56dodgeboy and I have the only ones this side of Winterpeg Manitoba and really when I ask someone to show a extra set they have or have seen for sale………OOPS that has never happened yet.No one is going to pull their valve covers off a running engine and sell them for even 200/set. I agree this young lad will probably trade them for a six pkg. or 1/5 OF Johnny Walker……..and there gone gone gone and that's way it will likely go. Then again everyone wants them for half price so when advertising what would you price them at

Extreme Veteran Posts: 494 Location: Alberta | spinout - 2014-01-24 1:38 PM WTH? This is sad for the vintage car world. Freman's Auto in Whitehall, Montana is getting CRUSHED EVERYTHING. The metal, that soon to be 2015 Kia import. All 30s-70s. Most rust-free. Finned cars, Chryslers, DeSotos, Dodges, Plymouths... lot of good parts! Huh.. I have bought parts from this yard to my DeSoto in the early 90s and this car was actually there in 1986-87.. Check out FACEBOOK page Montana Dodge Boys. This guy try to rescue cars, parts and has saved lot from the metal muncher! If you read this when it was posted here on the forum it becomes apparent why Neil finally crushed everything. Niel's yard was jus 218 miles south of the middle of nowhere and in a county noted across America of being the most rural in the US. Edited by RUSTORICHES 2018-01-01 12:47 PM
