Location: New Castle PA | Each year, I try to update my printout of just "where" my database shows that all of the 1957 DeSotos are. To see the latest, take the link to my home page http://www.angelfire.com/de/petrus/index.html
and then choose the option to see where all the cars are in my database. I really appreciate everyone who has helped me over the years to find "new" cars. Please remember that in order to be included, there should be "something substantial" that can be documented, like a "for sale ad", a picture submitted, etc. If someone just tells me "there's one in Topeka, Kansas", that's not definitive enough for me to include it. I try to gather VINs, engine codes, build dates, owner names, addresses, phone numbers, car model, condition, sometimes color (especially for Adventurers), and whatever can be gathered. I absolutely do NOT have all of that information on every car. I also recognize that there are likely many more cars out there waiting to be found. Finally, keep in mind that I know some of these cars to be "clones" so they may not be listed the way you'd think at first glance.

So the end of the 1957 De Soto production run was probably sometime around August 1957? This year marks a special year for your "Where are They Now" chart, being 60 full years of dispersal! |

I do keep up with the calendars and the database, but really haven't updated much of anything else lately. Maybe in 2018 I can get back into the swing of things, but no promises... |

Location: New Castle PA | Deaner, it's hard for me to answer that for sure. I do have several '57 DeSotos listed in Idaho, but none listed in Wendell. However, I also have at least one listed (I have owner's name) but not his address, so that "could" be it. If you have any particulars on the car (owner name, model, etc.) please PM me and I'll either confirm that I know of it, or add it into the database. Thank you! |
