Member Posts: 9 Location: South West Michigan | Since it is nearly impossible to find replacement quarters for the 1960 Dart, I am wondering if any one knows or other cars which would have a similar style for the front most section of the rear wheel opening? Maybe something close that could be altered to work? Thanks for any information that would help.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | The wheel arches are the same as 60 Plymouth so any of the sections for the Plymouth will fit. Obviously the rear sections that also go into the tail light section ect wont, but the bulk of the panel will work. Just like all repair sections available these days, be aware that they will look pretty close, but as far as totally fitting, I have had to alter almost all of the ones I have used Try "black car" as a source as well as ebay but depending how bad it is, its sometimes better to repair whats there

Member Posts: 9 Location: South West Michigan | Thanks for responding. Could the 61 wheel arches also be the same? I know the rest is different . I knew about the Plymouth. Also Black car has me on a list so I am patiently waiting to see what they might run across. I know they repop quarters for a 59, but I suspect they are quite different.

Could the 61 wheel arches also be the same? close but not the same, skirts interchange but the lip is different. 60 is square, 61 is round. post a pic of the rust damage, most people needlessly replace whole panels for something that could be patched, with better results.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 7393 Location: northern germany | the forward section, towards the door is easy. the wheel opening is pretty bad but i have patched worse, just a lot of work and requires some skill. that said finding and welding in a panel isn't a piece of cake either. i personally would patch it. do NOT cut it all out at once! you will lose any hint of how the panel needs to be. don't rush, concentrate only on a little section a day and leave as much as oe steel as possible, meaning, no long, straight cuts that can lead to warping. this is how it works for me for 30 years. heavy gauge, soft steel can be formed easily. lots of work but imo the best and btw cheapest way!
