There's a junkyard closing and crushing all it's cars that's in Idaho, about 45 minutes outside of Spokane. I am way back in Chicago, there are several cars there I would like to save but the owners want strictly cash in person, and they aren't even sure which cars are still there or not. Is there anyone here who can help me who lives nearby? I can have a transport guy pick them up I just need someone to do the deal https://spokane.craigslist.org/pts/d/classic-auto-parts-liquidation/...

There are a few cars I'd like to buy. But they want cash in person, wouldn't take PayPal, overnighted check, etc, etc. Need someone to go there and give them $$ and also tell me what's still there, they sold about 50 cars but weren't sure which ones were left and were gone

There's a list of what cars are they but guy in office wasn't sure which ones were sold or not. In any case there is a '60 Plymouth wagon listed, assuming it's a 4dr wagon.

The 60 Plymouth wagon has been chopped up pretty good. It is a 4 door.

Off the top of my head, this is the list of FL cars as of last Wednesday:

55 Firedome 2HT
56 NY 2HT
58 Ply wagon
57 Dodge wagon
58 Dodge wagon
59 CR sedan
57 Dodge sedan x3
58 Dodge sedan
57 NY sedan
58 NY sedan
60 Saratoga 4HT
56 Dodge sedan
59 Ply 2HT x3
57 or 58 Imperial 2HT

There were undoubtably a few others that I am forgetting, and I cannot
lay hands on the list I made right now. Some of these cars are fairly
complete and decent. Most are picked over, and a few are heavily
chopped up for sheetmetal panels.

Yeah, they could not have picked a rougher time to say "Get 'em outa
here". There is 10" of snow on the ground and it is tough to really see
what you are looking at. I pushed them for a reason for the rush, as they
have lots of open ground to park new stock on the property, but got no
real answer. Mike is selling the property to the yard next door. The sale
of his old cars will help the new owners pay him off (?). That did not make
sense to me, but that was the answer I got.

Prices are $350 a ton, over the scale. If I weren't going in a different
direction, this would be an awesome opportunity to buy the whole lot.

Are you going back? I'd like to buy the '58 Plymouth wagon (I've seen pics of it) a 58 Cadillac Fleetwood, and maybe a 60 Cadillac or 59 Pontiac if they are still there.

The 58 Plymouth wagon was nice. I did not look at many of the
non-FL cars. The snow was deep, I was wet and cold. Not a good
time for this kind of thing.

I had a short window of time inbetween snow storms, took two friends that needed parts also.

I loaded a '59 Fury hardtop on the trailer, then dismantled cars until they were closing. I completely filled the car with extra coupe doors, fenders, moldings, whatever I could grab. Weighed out at over 6,500 lbs. We had to leave that night, as another storm was moving in, and I didn't feel like towing that load in a snowstorm.

It was no picnic stripping cars, as it was under 10 degrees when we started, and the foot of snow over ice made it nearly impossible to locate loose parts, as things are strewn everywhere beneath.

The new owners are not into these cars, and seemed surprised that someone would drive over 900 miles to freeze their ass off pulling parts off the old wrecks. While I was there, someone mistakenly cut the bucket seats from a car that was sold, and the owners said that there would be no more parts sold. The previous yard owner, Mike, was great, he showed me to an NOS 4-door quarter panel for a '59 was, and invited me back to look through his private stash.

Unfortunately, these cars will be long gone, as the new owners are in a hurry to recoup their investment. They did agree to save one car for me until I could get it in a month or so, which was generous, although I spent some good money there.

Special thanks to Doc Desoto, as he took time to drive over to verify that there was worthwhile cars and parts before I made this trip.

Garrett, I bought the fenders from that wagon, as they were repairable. The car itself was missing the tailgate, engine and trans as well as most trim, the hood was doubled over at the hinges, and the floors were rusted through. I considered buying the whole thing, but after checking it out, decided it was best used for parts.

I have a few fairly solid '57 and '59 wagons here, if that's something of interest.

You must have been up there just a few days ago. I found a nice guy locally who's helping me out I was all set to buy that 58 Plymouth wagon but found out Friday when he got there the fenders were gone. That kind of killed that car, I was going to save it. I'm buying and going to restore the red/ white '57 Dodge wagon that was next to it. They aren't selling parts any more but they will still sell whole cars.

The floors were mostly cut out, so yes, it'll be for parts, along with fifteen or so other 59's.
