I prefer to read the board in "Flat" format rather than "Nested" or "Threaded". But for some reason, in flat format, the messages don't get word wrapped so that I have to constantly scroll across the screen, back and forth, in order to read the messages. The other 2 formats automatically wrap the sentences so you don't have to do that. Is there a way to get the "Flat" format to wrap the sentences like the others do? Thanks.

i suspect that to be browser-related...
have you tried 2 or 3 different browsers to see if they behave differently?

I haven't tried other browsers. I will give that a try. I am currently using Chrome.

Internet Explorer does wrap on Flat view so it does seem to be browser related. I didn't try Mozilla.

I have the same problem with word wrap on the Forum, on IE, Chrome and Mozilla browsers, all latest editions.
It does not happen with all posts but is a pain when it does

The forum header adjusts to screen size but the posting does not. It initially comes up ok, then changes to not word wrap.
Some sort of techo glitch? I googled it and it appears to be a common issue across apps, possibly related to editor settings on the poster's computer

for example, see two recent posts in Forward Look non technical discussions / 1955 - 1961 Forward Look Mopar General Discussions

"56 Belvedere interior" does not have word wrap

"55 Plaza Suburban arrives today" does have word wrap

Flatmode should be the default mode. The other modes date back to the '90s bulletinboard-era.
Have been using Firefox or Safari for years and now Waterfox and never have encountered the issues you're describing, unless ofcourse someone posts an image that's too wide for the screen.
More common forumsoftware would simply resize/scale down the image to the max. screen/windowssize as to not screw up the layout.

There's absolutely no reason at all to use a relic like Internet Explorer. On the other hand, that monstrosity is outdated enough to play well with this forum perhaps...
