Ok so I have rebuilt my 318 Poly & the cast iron Torqueflite. I hope to bolt these together this weekend & fit them to
the Fury anybody have any helpful hints when fitting the trans to the converter & how do you know the pump drive sleeve
is engaged correctly ?
Any hints or tip will be greatly appreciated

Location: northern germany | you MUST use guiding rods as described in the manual. line the sleve up with the converter and it slides right in. do not force the tranny together with bolts if you can't make the case touch the bellhousing by hand. important, do not forget to oil the sleve and the seal before you install. |

Location: northern germany | and if you only removed the case and left the TC in place, you might want to flush the TC with kerosene before you install the transmission. |

TC has been serviced/reconditioned. Just had a look at the back of the block there are no locating dowels ? Is that normal ?
I can't find anything in the workshop manual about locating dowels. |

Location: northern germany | never worked on a 318 but i think there should be dowel pins. okay, i thought you are going to install ci box with the bellhousing and converter still in the car. |

I can't find a picture anywhere of the rear of the block mighty Google has failed me |

Location: Muskego, WI | There are two locating dowels for the bell housing, one at 3 o'clock and one at 9 o'clock on the block. With the TC and bell housing in place, install the guide studs into the bell housing as Sid described. Try to line up the pump sleeve with the mating features of the TC before you slide the trans into the bell housing. |

Location: NY & VT | The Porsche guys (and they're even worse that the Ferrari nuts) love Brad Penn Grade 1 racing oil at low viscosities in their high performance engines, it's semi-synthetic and has high ZDDP levels. Nobody is more anal , so if it's good enough for them... use the best oil you can buy in the lowest appropriate viscosity. |

Hmmm that's they way they were when I got it no biggie I'll swap them around did you notice there the same colour as the roof.
I'm going to add a slant 6 PCV valve instead of dumping the fumes it should fit straight in the rocker cover outlet |

I cant remember what PCV valve I used on the dodge. I used one mostly so I didn't have oil film blown under the car making a mess
